I didn't see a thread, so I started one.

I am planning on applying this fall for the Direct Entry MSN program. Anyone else?

@BeesMama: I heard that they take as many alternates as accepted so if they accept 60, there will be 60 alternates as well in case those 60 end up all dropping.. which is highly unlikely but I think that's what they do.

Gosh! And they re-evaluate every time someone drops? Or doesn't accept? That is just nuts! It would be nice if they would rank us so we had some sort of idea as to if an alternate *might* get accepted.

I'm not sure about the re-evaluation but yeah, that sucks :(

I agree about the ranking, that would be really nice.

I'm not sure if I should give them a call. They said expect a letter after 2-3 weeks but technically it hasn't been 2 weeks since my interview so I'm still hoping that these were semi-early acceptance. It's so hard to be positive though.

I'm totally in the same boat as all of you! An alternate letter shows more hope, but after experiencing it I would definitely recommend taking more prereqs (if needed for other programs) and apply elsewhere. Otherwise the wait is just torturous!

Bees, apparently they reevaluate. However, I think it's a load of bull! Ha ;) even though they say there's really no point system-there has to be! It would be a big waste of their time to reconvene every time a spot opens up. I'm sure they have some type of ranking but are just extremely discreet as to what it is.

I'm hoping we can get our letters today (I'm actually in Costa Rica and my mom is on mail duty! But I only get iMessage texts when I'm on a wifi spot...argh!) then we can move on. It has been a pleasure going through this experience with all of you though! :) :) :)

Enjoy Costa Rica BlueEyes!!!! I'm just a tad jealous. Have a great vacation and don't stress about this too much!

As far as the alternate thing goes, not stoked on the prospect of feeling in limbo for MONTHS! I really can't take much more prolonged stress and anxiety. Western is truly my first choice.

Ceci, thank you! It's still a bit discouraging but it does make it better being in paradise :) but again, maybe we're jumping the fun (edit: jumping the GUN. No pun intended haha!) and some more acceptances will come our way!

Also, it is horrible waiting for literally MONTHS. Like this waiting game only magnified. I would seriously try to "forget" about it and move on. Then if you end up getting accepted its a pleasant surprise. I've learned such a good lesson about putting my eggs in one basket.

I interviewed on the 20th, and also haven't heard anything!! :-( I still have hope! But it's just so difficult to concentrate at work!!

Has anyone tried calling the school and asking if they have already sent out all the acceptances? Do you think they will tell us if we call or will they say we have to wait to find out?

I was going to ask that. They seemed so nice, that I don't think they would mind the question. But I would fear they would just say wait to see? But I was thinking of calling and saying 'rumor is that acceptance emails are out, are they all done?' or something along those lines.
