Western Health Sciences - Direct Entry MSN - Fall 2013

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

I didn't see a thread, so I started one.

I am planning on applying this fall for the Direct Entry MSN program. Anyone else?

Guys what do you think? How long after this Early Acceptance Event do you think we start hearing from them? :/

I'm hoping VERY soon! I will be out of the country March 1, so I'm getting nervous that interviews may spill over into March...eek! Fingers crossed!

BlueEyes, do you think the early accepts have been notified already? Or is it randomly like the day or a few days before the event?

Oh and what do you guys think they look at the most? I am scared if it's a numbers game :/

Nice BlueEyes, where are you heading out to? I need a vacation BADLY lol.

Lithium, I'm assuming they have been notified, as they would have to make plans to attend...but that is an assumption. I have NO idea! (Wish I did!) As far as number games, Western has always made their "formula" very hush-hush. I truly believe they look at each applicant as a whole. Life experience, grades, what they can bring to the nursing profession and the program. Even when we were wait listed we were not assigned a number because they said they reevaluate as a spot becomes available. I know it beyond difficult, BUT do try to relax! I keep telling myself that they will notify us when they notify us and there's really nothing we can do about it. Stressing and over analyzing will do nothing but give us all heartburn and sleepless nights :)

We're going to Costa Rica! So excited!

Costa Rica! How nice!!! I hope you get to go to both your interview AND Costa Rica :D Oh my goodness, Idk about Costa Rica, but airfare is so expensive now when I made trips out to the midwest so I hope it works out for you.

If its just a numbers game I wouldn't have been accepted. They look at each candidate individually, with emphasis on your recent work. My cumulative gpa was less than 3.0, but my last 60 units were 3.9.

Maseca thanks! And thank you for keeping us in your thoughts, I feel I am thinking a lot about this lol.

Maseca, Thanks so much! for giving us hope and helping to assuage our anxiety through this time.....

Thanks Maseca!

I was wondering if we are supposed to update the schools of our latest achievements (updates on our resume) since we applied to Western?

Or should we just wait for our interview and update them in person?

just a thought...
