Hey, anyone is planning to take the TEAS for the fall 2021 nursing program at WCC? Is there anyone who took it this year? How difficult it is to get to the program? How many people applied this year and how many got in?

Any info would be appreciated!

Hi!

I intend on applying for the Spring 2021 nursing program at WCC. although, with all of the chaos going on I'm wondering if anything pertaining to the TEAS or program itself is being altered.

Anyone in the same boat?

I completed my TEAS remotely at home on Saturday October 10th. I scored an 80 cumulatively. I wish I had studied English Grammer & Spelling more due to how poorly I scored on that section. The Reading, Mathematics and Science part I scored 82 and up. I am now waiting for the an email to confirm acceptance, which will be 2 weeks from the exam date. Most likely, I will email the nursing department today and await a reply by tommorow. I will update the chat with my results.

I took mine on 14th. This waiting is killing me! Did you get any respond yet? I think we might get the result next month. Hopefully we can all get in.

I emailed Joan and she replied that the Nursing Department will be emailing the  acceptance letters.

I have been trying not to think about it much so I wouldn't drive myself crazy LOL.

From what the TEAS packet states, November is the month for replies.

I do pray we both get it in❤

What email did they send it from?

It's from Norma Katz. Don't worry, you will get in too!

Karen what was your score? I will be taking TEAS in march and I am terrified! Congrats!

Do you guys think they only make decision based on the TEAS score?

They base admissions solely on your TEAS scores.

I got 82. Do not underestimate the English section. I only got 61 on the reading section, even though I though it was easy when I took the exam. I got 100 on both math and English, and 83 on science. Try to do best as you can on the TEAS. That is the only thing determine if you get in or not.

How did you prepare? Any advice? Resources?

I bought the practice exam from ATI. There are many people recommend ATI TEAS secret study guide, but I only use the Kaplan TEAS prep. You can just borrow them from local library, and do the free practice exam. I also used the app called ATI TEAS pocket prep.  It contains a lot of practice questions. Just do as many practice  problems as you can. Good luck!

I agree 100%.

I studied from the Momoetrix book, as well as the ATI official book. Both books have their own advantages though. Momoetrix is more thorough with the science section which helped me alot. On the other hand, it was good to have the ATI book due to the questions mirroring the actual exam.

I recommend taking a practice exam, even if you do it in sections.  The actual exam can be slightly intimidating if you are not use to long testing hours. You will notice the difference in your comfortability which can help alleviate test anxiety the day of.

Depening on your schedule, studying anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months is efficient.

I can not emphasize doing practice questions. They help so much especially the ones with the rational.

Also, if you are a visual learner like me, then Youtube is your best friend. The Momometrix mathematics  practice test questions with the explanation helped me tremendously!

Lastly, the day of the exam try to relax and take your time( but not too much time) LOL.

Hi all, I just got my acceptance letter today.  I'm so excited to start this... it's been a long time coming!

Anyway I agree with previous poster -- I used Momentrix and ATI and did practice tests maybe too many times.  It definitely helped though and was pleasantly surprised with my TEAS score.

Definitely feel like it's worth the money for at least the ATI book.  Hope this helps!

If anyone else knows any other info regarding what to expect with WCC's nursing program, please share! I'm interested in knowing what courses are required for first semester.

Did they just send it or was it sent earlier?

I got my email a little bit before 4pm today.  In a follow up email that was sent out, Norma did say that this year was extremely competitive.
