West Coast University

Published

Hey all,

I've been browsing this site for awhile now and have decided to become a member today so I could get some advice and opinions on West Coast University (the Ontario Campus-to be specific.) I've had a few concerns regarding this school and I'm hoping you guys could provide some insight and knowledge. I'd like to start off by saying that I understand that this is a private university and with a private university comes a huge tuition cost which ultimately results in huge loans, etc. That put aside, I'm really interested about the quality of education the WCU has to offer. Is it like those "other" schools out there (Everest, Kaplan, etc.) I was talking to some RN's during a recent hospital visit and they said those schools scream "dont hire me!", does anyone know if WCU puts out the same message? I'm a recent HS graduate (class of 2013.) and really want to stay away from a JC and unfortunately a CSU/UC isn't an option for me at this point.

A few other points I'd like some more info on:

-Do BSN grads from WCU have more trouble finding jobs then a BSN grad from a CSU/UC?

-Do any current WCU students work while attending school? I currently work full time (planning to cut back my hours majorly, if and when I start the program at WCU)

-Any other advice/comments from RNs or nursing students out here?

Thanks so much you guys! I'm looking forward to reading your replies and advice.
