West Coast University BSN FASFA/Goverment AID question?

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi, I am planning on attending WEST COAST UNIVERSITY near the end of summer. I've read countless reviews on this school and of course, there is the good and bad.

Tuition cost is the biggest problem for all of us. Some of us are lucky and we qualify for FASFA.

I was wondering is there any students currently attending who receive FASFA? I'm able to list my current income as under 25k/yr so i qualify for financial aid, grants, etc.

Can anyone recieving FASFA/Loans/Aid/Etc. tell me how much you are recieving?

Thanks in advance!

Oh yea can anyone offer comparisons between Azuza pacific University and West Coast University? I have yet to tour APU but these two private universities are about 20miles/same distance apart from my home. I also plan on going for Masters in the future so which ever school rings a better name for acceptance to CSULA is a plus. Thanks again!

I qualified for FA... Here's my info.. a smidge over 9k in gov loans... the full 5500 of fafsa grant... and 18+k in gi bill...

Is it 5500 fasfa each semester or per 10 week term? How long have you been in the program for?

Its $5500 per school year and its called a federal pell grant. So if your school year is 2 semesters or 3 qtrs, the amt is split evenly. You also only receive a percentage of the amt you qualify for based on school attendance... parttime(50%), 3/4time (75%) or fulltime (100%).

I am attending WCU, I qualify for FAFSA for about 5k in grants and 10k in loans. FAFSA is based on my mom's income, she is a single mom with 3 kids attending college. I was hoping to get some more because my family really can't afford the crazy 136k tuition. I was approved for 56k loan for WCU and am starting in April. My private loan is from Sallie Mae and will pay for the first 2 years at WCU and on the 3rd year, I would have to take out another loan, depending on how much I can get in FAFSA, it might be another 40-50k loan, so in total I would owe about 90k. It seems liek a lot, monthly payments is estimated to be 1200 after I'm done with school and find a job. Wish me luck! I have decided that education is one of the best investments, it doesn't matter how much it costs. If you're serious about nursing, then go for it!
