Wellstar Summer 2020 RN Residency

Hey everyone! Figured I'd start a new thread for everyone applying to Wellstar. I'm a former extern and applied on Tuesday when the application opened. I graduate in May of 2020 and I'm hoping to start with the July cohort. I just completed the follow-up assessment last night.

The application is probably closed. Thay have already held and hired for the Summer residency. The next cohort is going to be for October and I think that hiring event will be in June. They will open that application in the coming weeks

I went onto career.wellstar.org; searched RN residency; then it took me to type in job title, number, and location. Is this how you all applied for the RN residency program? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hey, the application period for May graduates has closed! They sent an email/survey for anyone not offered a position to sign up for the October Residency cohort. I believe interviews will be held in June of July!

I think it varies based on department/specialty. I was offered $28 with a $3 raise after orientation for specialty pay. I was also told I was compensated for previously working as a PCT and then a Nurse Extern for Wellstar.

Hello I accepted a position at the Atlanta South location! I am super excited to start. Are there any group chats for upcoming Nurses in the Summer Cohort? I start in July.

Has anyone heard anything about starting early with the provisional license? My current tech job severely cut our hours and I'm trying to make ends meet until work starts in July. I spoke with a recruiter 3 weeks ago and she said more details would follow but I haven't heard anything from her other than asking for when I graduated.

I haven't heard anything about that. The last I spoke to someone was to give my graduation and NCLEX test date (if already scheduled)

I haven't heard anything but I was told that none of us will be starting earlier than July 20th.

Hi!

Did anyone else receive an email regarding a change in their start date? I’m a little worried since I’m moving out of state for this position and signed a new lease.

I received the email as well however there was no change in my start date.

Maybe because we probably are on different floors? They set mine back to a month later... August 17. I’m worried it’s too long.
