Well...I started the new job and have successfully managed to make my former boss MAD

I went from a clinic to a 20 bed LTC. All of the residents in the LTC use the same doctor, who is out of town until Thursday. My former boss agreed to take call for him since he is the only doctor in his clinic...everyone else is a PA. So...last night we had a resident fall and I had to call him. An hour later, we had a resident have a seizure and I had to call him and transport the resident because we couldn't get the seizure stopped. Early this morning, we had a resident have an anaphylactic reaction to his new antibiotic...so I had to call and transport again. After the third resident was safely stabilized at the hospital, my former boss called me and told me not to call him again...he was tired and he was sick of always being stuck with the other doctor's call. :uhoh3: I apologized and reminded him that I wouldn't have called unless is was something I either had no choice about or was something I couldn't handle without medical intervention. He again told me not to call and told me that if I did, he would report me to the administrator and have me fired and have my license revoked. Then he said, "So, what do you think of that?" :banghead: I told him that I thought he either needed to cowboy up and remember that it is always horrible when he covers for the other doctor, quit covering for the other doctor, or agree to cover and then leave town so everything is deferred to town call like all of the other doctors do. He screamed (yep, screamed...used to do it in the clinic all the time) and hung up.

He called back about 15 minutes later and told me he was glad that I am getting my spunk back.
