I guess I should be happy about that, right?
But sadly, I'm not. My grades have always been A's. And now I have gotten B's in both of my nursing classes. And I just feel like I should've done better, but I have no idea what I could have done to improve how I performed this semester.
I feel like I put all the work in and studied more than enough and still couldn't pull off an A.
Should I give up on the thought of an A being achievable in nursing school? I don't even feel like it's possible now.

I would be very happy with what you accomplished. And those are 'B's, nothing to be ashamed of. 10yrs down the road you are going to be an RN and you aren't going to be thinking of 'the A that got away'. Be happy, move on, work harder next semester, and enjoy the break! :)

Congrats to you girl! Nursing school is a horse of a different color. Do the best you can and move forward. I'll take those B's any day

You have to let go of that perfectionist mindset. Seriously. It will drive you crazy! (Speaking from experience here.)
I was told by my nursing adviser that in her experience a lot of the people who got straight A's in our program were so focused on studying that they tended to miss out on key ingredients like people skills and networking. Some of them had a harder time finding jobs than those whose grades were just okay. This is of course purely anecdotal but the point is, grades aren't everything in nursing school.
I'm sure somewhere deep down you realize that B's are perfectly acceptable (and depending on the rigor of your program could be taken as a sign that you're doing pretty darn well) but if it's REALLY burning you up I'd talk to your instructors to see if they have any suggestions for next semester. You could also see if any of the A students in your class have any study strategies to share.
Good luck, and relax :)

I'm practically limping over the finish line with a C my first semester. I need to turn up the juice for next semester.

You know what to do, study harder. This isn't pre-req level difficulty, this is the big boy stuff. You can't just study the night before and expect to ace it like you could with a&p or chem. Study harder and the grades will follow, you performed at a B level, learn from it and step it up to the A level. Go go go DO IT.
I also respectfully disagree with everyone that claims "omg Bs are so good, just settle and be happy yay :))!!"
Thats BS, you want A's go earn'em! You put in 2 hours a night and get B's? Put in 4. Do whatchya gotta do, be a beast, and let nothing stand in your way. I wont hold your hand like others and tell you Bs are amazing, they arn't. You are capable of As, you just need to sacrifice more. Thats what it boils down to, sacrifice of your own free time and pleasure to do what it takes to MASTER the material. Let no one tell you otherwise. Now go earn those As. No excuses

You should be very proud! So a BSN told me that in nursing school a C means "CONTINUE"!!
Also another thing, employers do not always want the, "Straight A" student because of assumed social awkwardness that is associated with straight A students. Sounds harsh or unrealistic? Ask any nurse who is in a management position. Now I am not saying don't aim for an A, I am just saying don't think it's the end of your journey and nursing is a lost hope. I think you are being way to hard on yourself. You need to enjoy clinical s and school because this is a critical time.

I agree, if you want As then work harder for them BUT I also agree that you should be proud of those Bs. I rather have Bs and have a life than As and not. My opinion.

Why are you upset? B= Nurse even a C = Nurse. When you graduate nursing school, pass your boards and start working, your grades in nursing school won't even matter.
I graduated nursing school with all A's and 1 B, was class Valedictorian and recently passed my boards and got a job. Although I was happy about those things, they're not a big deal anymore, all of those B and C students are nurses just like me. Be blessed and happy.
