I am so sorry. I honestly don't know why there aren't part time rn schools the way there are part time lvn schools.
How short will you be? School may not be 8-5 everyday and they might have some night clinicals. Ask. My LVN class days were 7-1 so you could work a 3-11 or get a few home health visits in.
congrats on getting accepted...this is a problem for alot of lpn/lvns attempting to further their education. I work 16 hour shifts sat and sun at a nursing home to attend school fulltime. when there is major test on mon, I'll take off the second shift on sunday to study and have enough rest. It is a financial sacrifice, but if God brought you this far He'll carry you through. Good luck and don't give up!
Is it the Louisville campus that you applied to? If so, try getting on at a hospital - you will get experience & some income plus a guaranteed job. I start CNA classes in 2 weeks at a local hospital & I have applied to start LPN day classes at Galen in April 2010.
It will be a struggle for us but its only temporary & the reward will be great!
Good luck & congrats on being accepted.

i found out today that i was accepted into galens school of nursing for the november class. however, after sitting down and going through finances, i realized i can't just stop working my full time job to go to class each day. i guess school is monday thru friday from 8-5 and it's an hour from my house. i was planning on working on the weekends, but unless i do doubles....then i won't have my income. and we need my full time income.
i am heartbroken!
