Although I live in New York, I commute just 30 miles to work in one of the smallest hospitals in Massachusetts as an ICU/CCU nurse. It's small. . . it's really, really, really small! Why just the other day there were four patients in the entire hospital!
And there was one day when there was only one patient!
I love working here. Don't know how long the hospital will be able to keep its doors opens. But will stay there until I get the "pink slip".
I also love Massachusetts! (Well, and New York, too!) I lived in Boston for 5 wonderful years where I attended Berklee College of Music. . . . oh so long ago. . . . over 20 years ago . . . . But it was a wonderful time for me. I love your mountains and your ocean seashores, and, of course, your people! :)
Just want to say a warm hello to you all from one nurse who works in Massachusetts to another. :)
Ted
hey just wanted to hop in....
i introduced myself on the other mA thread..but it looks like all the action is here :)
i just graduated with my BS from a school in Fl. and i got my MA RN license last month...about 3 weeks now..and no job yet...
i am hoping to interview at MGH next week, God-willing..
Miami. . . it's hot down there . . . especially in the summer!
I love the North East. Massachusetts is a very beautiful state with its sea shore on the east and the Berkshire Mountains on the West. Hope you give yourself some time to explore this wonderful state and the whole New England area as a whole, "itsnowbegun".
(Oh by the way, I live in New York. . . about 35 miles from the MA border. New York is a great state too!)
Cheers! :)
Ted
Nurse89: Where in Southeast MA are you from? It sounds like we are from the same area. I have done a little nursing home work to suppliment my income with an agency, but work full time out of a local hospital..... Please send me a private message if you wish to carry on a conversation. I dont' want to bore everyone : )
