I'm looking to see if anybody has any experience in using weighted blankets for the elderly who are experiencing agitation due to dementia and/or Alzheimer's disease? I have seen some data out there that suggest a weighted blanket might be helpful introducing anxiety. My mom is in a long-term care facility and starting to go down that awful path of dementia. We're finding more and more episodes of increased anxiety and fretfulness. They are working on her medications and making some adjustments. I do know that takes some time. She seems to be sensitive to changes in her med regime, so I'm wondering if a weighted blanket might help reduce some of her stress.
