weight loss

Anyone lose a bunch of weight after they started working as a cna? It's not the main reason but it's one of the reasons I want to be a cna cause of all the physical activity, I was hoping it would help me lose 30 lbs.

You might lose weight at first, but it's not going to be a miracle program or anything. And after a while your body gets used to it.

I hoped it would help me, but honestly all of the physical activity makes me eat more, so it evens itself out. I did lose a few pounds when I started in LTC, but it's slowly creeping its way back, like the above poster said, your body will get used to it. I can't see anybody losing 30 pounds from working as a CNA unless they went on a good diet to go with it.

I'm not a CNA yet (taking my class right now), but I lost about 30 lbs when I first became a server. I feel like they're pretty similarly physically demanding, in that you have to be on your feet all day, running around, meeting people's needs, and those trays aren't exactly light. Mostly it was the fact that I had long shifts with no chance to eat, and I was so tired by the time I got home that I went straight to bed without dinner. So, yeah I lost weight, but it was certainly not healthy.
