Weighing Options for RN to BSN

Published

Hi everybody!

I've interested in getting a BSN through an online RN to BSN program and I've been looking at cheap schools like WGU/Aspen University. Aspen seems attractive because the whole program is less than $10k and they have that monthly payment program. It also has CCNE accreditation. Has anyone else had any experience with Aspen or other online RN to BSN/MSN programs? Can anyone attest to the quality of education? How hard was the course work? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Aspen does not yet have regional accreditation, which can make it difficult to transfer credit. Some employers (like my former govt employer) will not accept schools without regional accreditation. There are plenty of other 'cheap' schools (like WGU, UL Lafayette, etc) that are fully accredited - just my .02. :)

I'm doing my BSN through WGU. I only started the program this month, but I am pretty happy with it so far. Some classes are easier than others, but I am loving working at my own pace.
