Weekend Supervisor :(

I'm sure every nurse has run into a supervisor that is difficult and very one sided! This is my current situation. I have been an LPN for 5 years and my experience has only been in the SNF, so I decided that I wanted to further my education, and I'm one semester away from being complete with my prereqs for the RN program( so happy) I currently work in a rehab hospital working every weekend 7a-7p. I love my job and I can honestly say I have learned very much and have extremly improved my nursing skills.

However my nursing supervisor is for lack of better words HORRIBLE! She's very unprofessional, talks about other nurses, gives difficult assignments to nurses she doesn't like, assignments aren't equal some RN's have 3 patients and others have 7(as an LPN I carry more patients) hangs up on nurses when they call supervisors phone, instead of assigning rooms to new patients she's off doing non-related tasks. I keep saying to myself it will get better but it only seems to get worse. My plan is to stay there while in nursing school but it gets harder and harder every weekend. I feel hospital experience will greatly help with clinicals but I'm at my end. HELP!!

Yeah, we've all been down that road and it sucks. I had one of these supervisors tell me one day "It's spelled J-O-B not F-U-N, suck it up buttercup". And you know what, I did. Later on she was fired and I'm still at the J-O-B. Karma.

LOL, that was hilarious! But it's true, I will suck it up and count down the days until she's fired!
