Hi,
Anyone here in the weekend nursing program at Glendale Community College? I'd like to hear some reviews, feedback, schedule, etc.

I'm not in the weekend program but know it was on Friday Saturday and possibly Sundays this last semester. I believe I heard that they are only taking CEP students now too. All hear say

My mother-in-law graduated from the weekend program. They try and plan it for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as much as possible. She would be in class for 8 hours at a time. If something is scheduled during the week, they give you plenty of notice. Mrs. Bookworm is right, it is now CEP only.
Thanks! I found out they switched to all CEP when I was ready to apply for the program so now I am considering doing the CEP because I work 4 10 hour shifts Monday- Thursday. Did your mother in law work full time while in the program? I'm nervous about taking all that on and working full time.
She didn't work at all. I'm in the evening program at Gateway and that's not near as intense as the weekend program and I wouldn't think of working full time. With the weekend program, you have to go into the lectures having already read and have a basic understanding of the content- the lecture is just meant to build onto your knowledge and for questions. If you think you can work full time while teaching yourself the basics of the material and doing your CEP class, go for it. I don't know you personally, so I can only say what I would do. I would cut my hours to 32/week to be able to still give ample time to the program.
Cutting my hours is not an option for me, which is why I am nervous about taking it all on. I have an opportunity to go through a Histology program that I might end up going with instead of nursing, because I figured it would just be too much to take on.
I mean, if you feel you could successfully juggle it all, go for it! I just remember the struggles my mother-in-law went through with the weekend program and feel I should make others aware. Good luck with whatever you choose!
