Teeheehee........................ :) I have been waiting for this day for 4 years.........to finally find out what it felt like to be a real nurse and I have to say it was GREAT!!
Started out w/5 pts, 2 psych/ms prob, 1 c/p, 1 w/seizure d/o &psych hx and 1 that had his elbow repaired. Had some excellent students as well. By noon, 3 had d/c, and I had one admission. I was moving along well until all the d/c came just as my admit got to the floor. The most challenging part of the day was finding time to chart w/all the stuff going on at once. I was an hour late getting off b/c I didn't get to enter my addmission assess til after 7 tonight. One of my pts was such a drug seeker that he said he was having c/p but everything was coming up normal and of course he didn't call when he was having it. I know that sounds cynical, but, the guy took every pain med that he had ordered and knew exactly what time each was due and was on the call light at just the time!!!! Admitting dx was spider bites but he ended up having MRSA in the wounds. Had track marks on his arm and stated that he lived on the streets. And I am sure there was some pain but always at a 10 when asked and never relenting when VS showed NL, I kind of doubted him most of the time.
It was wild the majority of day but I love it when it is like that beats being bored. Dawg tired though so i thought I would share w/my allnurses family. Smoke alarm is going off so dinner must be ready, thanks for all the good vibes that you sent my way today, it was appreciated.
