I have been watching LEON the LOBSTER on Youtube. Someone got him at a grocery store and took him home for a pet. Got to see him eat and molt. w00t!
Had my hearing aids "deep cleaned" (whatever THAT involves!) and had my hearing checked (it hasn't changed any) and had the left hearing aid 'fixed' so I can adjust the sound up or down without it affecting the right one. Much nicer. I told them that I had to rip my left hearing aid out when hubby was talking ... he has a loud voice, from talking to Nannie, and I have to make a motion with my hand (down. down!) to remind him that he doesn't have to talk so loud. But now I can just set the left hearing aid at a lower setting and the right one stays as it is set. Before they both worked off the same volume, NOW it's beddah!
Taking a break for supper....
So....We've done et, and I'm back!
Earlier today hubby and I were sitting out on the front porch, sort of dejectedly talking about the expensive things we have to take care of, like TEETH and new glasses, etc (ETC x 10 ?). During a pause in the conversation I looked up into the sky and said, "Dear God, Please send me a LOT of money!" So, Just now the mail ran; I went out to the mailbox and got what was in there, I started laughing. I told hubby that it was like God was --sort of -- answering my prayer by saying, "Uh, well, I don't have any cash or checks right now, but HERE ARE TWO BIG, FAT ENVELOPES FROM PublishersClearingHouse, so you can enter for a couple of CHANCES to win a lot of money!
?{Well, thank You!} ?
I sure hope the Braves do better tonight than they did last night. It was a pitiful and boring game and we lost to BoSox 6-3.
As the old highway signs used to say: IF YOU LIVED HERE, YOU'D BE HOME NOW.
If the game gets bad (or good!) I may come back still yet again. Y'never know, with me!
Is everybody out playing hooky?
Just got home and taking a little break before throwing together a meal. Hubs and his mom are watching some Korean drama on the TV. Twin B in the living room on the PlayStation. Presumably Twin A is doing the same in his bedroom. But by all means let me be the one to cook ?
Choir practice tonight. Another very warm day. We had a food truck today for Hospital Week. Indian tacos.
I'm here. I peeked in earlier, but didn't take time to post. I did my presentation today for the nursing students. It was a great group. They are in their final quarter, and just finished their preceptorships. I got some good questions about did we really use faxes to send info (yes) and how do we find people when doing contact tracing (it can be a challenge) and what do you do about vaccine hesitancy (good question). I could tell a couple students wanted to talk about Roe v. Wade, but I tried not to step into that, other than I personally think health decisions should be made by the person and their health care provider.
We went out to eat with my three kids and 2 grands last night, just for a burger. We sat outside and it was quite nice. But this morning dh found out his second cousin died of an aortic dissection last night. Very sad, was only in his 40s. And he was a really sweet, loving father.
Ugh, health care costs are weighing on my mind. Even though we feel relatively healthy, both dh and I have some price-y meds. I know I need to talk to a insurance broker, but it is overwhelming.
I will be preparing a Hello Fresh meal tonight, not sure which one. I'll just open the fridge and be surprised. I am trying to get youngest ds to prepare them. They are relatively easy and not too messy.
Didn't make it to choir practice. The meal (Hello Fresh meatballs with bulgogi sauce) took a little longer to prep. Not helped by the fact that Gma was in a complete stew. Just angry and spoiling for a fight. Kept asking Hubs why he lives here and insisting she is going back home to Indiana. This is not her home. The dogs make a mess of their food (they do). She had a meltdown, I had a meltdown, Hubs had a meltdown. Time for some seroquel for her. All I could think was how much I wish she *could* go back home.

Tweety it's understandable why you'd feel down, given the insurance situation
Dianah thanks for sharing the pictures
NJ22 glad that the pain has been better
Stars I have had similar experiences
Yesterday's anxiety faded fairly quickly, still a mystery where it came from. Work went well, billed enough hours but didn't have to rush. Offered to help coworkers but no one needed help
Rest of the day was fairly quiet, exercised then relaxed
Today have grocery shopping after work and then choir practice
Got up into the low 90s yesterday, will get into the upper 80s today, will have to use the AC again
