Tweety they pay for licenses and certifications but I don't think they provide time off for them

Ado that's an awfully long training

Stars sounds like another productive day

Was afraid it was going to be a crazy day at work yesterday, with another new case and a bunch of emails, but I did end up getting everything done

Had time in the morning to get the laundry started.  After work was quiet, exercised and checked out another pickleball court, was supposed to be a game there but there was no one.  Odd, as this is supposed to be such a popular sport

Today will have grocery shopping after work, then have to make the dish I'll be bringing to the cookbook club at the library tomorrow.

Going to be a cooler day today, will only get up to about 40.  Will be cooler for the next week or so

I'm up. First thing I had to deal with was calling Geek Squad which told me on-line that they had renewed protection on automatic renewal for 5 years at $345.++ and wanted me to call them, so I did. And I'm sorry to sound prejudiced, but the guy had a thick accent from India, and I wasn't sure it wasn't a spam, so when he asked for some information, so he could have a refund sent to me....Uh-uh....I just told him I'd call back later. I'll call the bank and/or credit card to see if there is a charge made on my account. I just don't trust that it isn't a scam. We had a neighbor who used to do computer stuff, so if all else fails I will call and ask him what he thinks.

So! I'm awake, but not functioning at full throttle yet. Not sure what I'll be up to today. I'll come back by later -----

Ugh, Stars, it seems you are being targeted for scams. You are correct in never giving out personal info to someone who calls you! I think a lot of companies contract with workers from other countries and that doesn't alway mean shady intentions. But, one can't possibly make any financial decisions if conversation is unclear. I never answer calls if I don't recognize the number, nor do I open emails that I don't recognize.

The day is overcast and much cooler, in the 40s. I slept late, as I was awake in the night with aching, and heartburn. But all that is gone and I need to get moving. I'm going to run some errands--drop off thrift store donations, old computer printer to recycle, and take the dogs to a fenced, off-leash park.

Joe, it would seem that cooking is becoming your creative outlet. I do hope you can find some pickleball soon. There is an indoor place in our area that offers pickleball.

I hope everyone is having a super day!

Calling the # on the back of the Mastercard gave me a line on which I was part of a promotion in which I could get a free .... well one of those "Help I've fallen and I can't get up" kind of devices....no charge, no fees, and no way to get hold of the MC acct consumer assistance services! That pretty much seems fishy and sucks. I called the bank person and got a message to leave my name and # and I'd get a call back. There are no charges listed for my checking account for today, on the automatic-phone-teller's line. Soooo, I remain suspicious until I hear from them. Crapola!

Naturally, since SiL did not check the bed when she got Nannie up yesterday, the bed was wet when I got back from my 'day off'.....fortunately I discovered it in time to get the bed linens put in the laundry, and change the sheets/blankets before Nannie's bedtime. Well, it was 1/2 hr past Nannie's bedtime when I got fresh sheets, etc, put on the bed. Aaaaand, more laundry from her bed today! How do you stop a person from getting up in the middle of the night, making their bed, and then laying back down on top of it, effectively soaking the whole thing with urine? I may have to sit up some night to be on alert for such an activity. Doesn't matter how many times I say, "If you get up, DON'T MAKE YOUR BED!" It doesn't compute.

Guess you can tell what a wonderful mood I am in again today. I'm hoping Nannie will fall into a heavy nap so I don't have to deal with her until suppertime.

I am truly weary of this whole freakin' routine.

So Nannie was sound asleep, then opened her eyes, looked at me, and said, "I have air in my eyeballs." I said "Hair?" She replied, "No, air." ...."Do you need eye drops?" ..."No." I said, "You have air in your nose, not your eyes."...."Oh. Okay."....and back to sleep she went!  😳

I had to move Nannie's 2 potted plants inside; a sparrow was inspecting it as a good place to start making a nest. I felt mean, taking the plants away. But, she hadn't started making the nest yet. Now the sparrow is returning again and again, looking for the plant. 😕 There are plenty of wild plants, trees and bushes around, but she really seemed to like that plant. Oh well.

Hello all!

No Stars, yup, it sounds like a scam/phishing.  Good on you, to decline to give out sensitive information to an unknown source.  With all the changes you have experienced in the last 6-12 months (mostly with decline and death of your dh), it is not surprising you are frustrated with the daily Nannie routine.  I hope you can arrange for some therapeutic time for YOU, be it at the Senior Center, Bookstore, Counseling, -- grief recovery takes time.  I wish you at least ONE bright spot each day.  Your efforts are not un-noticed.

Joe, that is weird, that you haven't found any active pickleball players, locally.  That sport is BOOMING in our area!  Keep trying!

nursej22, sorry to hear you had discomfort during the night, but good it is gone now!  Hope you were able to get your errands done.

Ado, that IS a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG training segment!!  And more to come???  At least you get paid for it!  (but it would be difficult for me to attend after an hour or so!!)

I didn't sleep well last night, just couldn't fall asleep.  Got probably 2.5 hours in.  Then got up and got ready, and went to my former workplace, to be present at the lunchtime retirement party for one of our long-time Cardiologists.  As he got his medical training mostly in Norway, he called all the nurses "Sister," which was endearing!  I missed hearing that, after I retired.  🙂

As I was leaving the hospital grounds, I passed several food trucks out front, one of which was selling tamales.  I got some chicken and some cheese/green chile tamales for us, for lunch!

Dh stayed home, as we have heating and A/C updates today.  The workmen were at the house when I arrived home.

That's all for now!  Have a good evening!
