Tweety I hope the home readings continue to be low

Stars hope your right hip feels better

Dianah glad there was no damage to the car

Was an unexpectedly busy day at work yesterday, which was good as I was a bit down

My cousin may not be able to afford to do Milwaukee this year.  We're going to tentatively plan for Sept, though she's not hopeful. This was the trip I was most looking forward to. If it doesn't work out I'll probably visit my alma matter instead.

I read that people are at record levels of pessimism, so I did a deeper dive into the news than I normally do, and I can see why.  Now I'm pessimistic too

The combined effect was to considerably lower my mood.  After work I tried to keep busy, mopping the kitchen floor, doing laundry and some of the grocery shopping

Today is slower ar work so I'm feeling down again hope it will lift.  Have grocery shopping and exercise after work

Should be in the upper 40s today

Good morning!

Joe, hope your mood lifts.

I'm not sure I understand the difference between being realistic and seeing things as they are or pessimism.  One probably leads to the other and count me among the pessimistic people.  I've never been much of a pollyanna.  I have a friend that when I comment always looks at the bright side with a "well at least it's not.........".  Very annoying.  LOL

I've had a good day.  Did some meal prep and grocery shopping.  Still need to make it to the gym and hope to get there soon.  I slept better but took the benzo.

Gouda Aphtanoon~

Yeah, no, the hip is uncomfortable when I first get up, but usually an hour or two after the meds, and having a capsaicin patch put on it, it slows down and becomes less painful, thank goodness.

SiL came over at noon and got Nannie up and dressed, out to her chair, and gave her breakfast and the meds I set out. It is a dreary gray day with showers off and on. I felt pretty funky when I got up, the usual feeling down combined with no motivation. I told SiL she didn't need to stay if she had other things on her agenda. BiL has c/o vertigo; he gets to go to the doc at .... well, he has already BEEN to the doc by now, but I don't know the results from that visit. He had been feeling yucky the past few days, and SiL says it is because he has been eating at odd hours and not checking blood sugar when he should. I told her to tell him to NOT be like his brother was about having diabetes. But at least BiL does not drink! However he has had heart problems, and has had one artery cleaned out and a stent put in another one. I reckon stubbornness and denial runs HARD in that family.

SiL getting Nannie up was a big help, so I told her that I feel uninspired about us doing any cleaning, so if she needed to go take care of other stuff, feel free. She did trim my hair for me today, before she left, so *I* feel much better. 🙂

She took Nannie to the nail place again yesterday and Nannie chose a hideous shade of what SHE calls 'pink' but it is a sickly, neon purple-ish pink. Anyway, everything we talked about earlier when we were just sitting and visiting w/ SiL ......E-v-e-r-y-t-h-I-n-g Nannie heard, she managed to circle right back to be about either her nails and their color, and her purple shoes. SiL and I were exchanging looks.....one being disbelief about the total obsession with her nails and her shoes, and how fixated Nannie is about them, and the frequency of her mention of them. GADS! We decided it could be worse, though, and at least Nannie is happy with them.

The problem with Nannie this afternoon is that she will not doze off! Don't know why she won't, but she isn't doing so. I am doing her laundry (again, the bed and what she wore to bed was thoroughly soaked, knees to shoulder blades.) I thought I might go upstairs and lessen the appearance of a tornado having gone through the rooms, but can't slip out of the den like I'd be able to if she was conked out for a while. In an hour she will ask about going back to bed; she does that often, between 3 and 5 PM. But I don't let her go back to bed because the last time I let her, she was up again in less than 10 minutes. 🙄

Oh, and one more Nannie-thing: today after SiL left and Nannie was still on the subject of her feet and clothes.....she showed me, lifting up the ankle portion of her pants, how her legs went all the way up from her ankles to just below her hips! GEE, WOW! And she was serious. Well, I guess because her legs DO go up from her ankles to just below her hips, but still, she was telling me like it was maybe...unusual? It reminds me of a kid I babysat for, he was 3 years old or so, and he 'discovered', and was surprised by, the fact that he could look out of the sides of his eyes. "Look what I can do!" AMAZING! 😳

Okay, time to transfer the wash into the dryer. Nannie continues to admire her nails and the way they 'go' with her turtleneck sweater and her shoes. OMG, smh.

Hey, Joe~ I was thinking....I'LL go to Milwaukee with ya, even before September, if ya want! You can call me "cuz' as if we were related! It will be fun. (I am up for 'escaping' from here; can you tell?)

Ummmmm. Well, it was an idea anyway. 🙃

Hi, all. Joe, I am sorry you are feeling low. I can only take little bits of news at a time. I may be a pollyanna of sorts. I do look for good news. My neighbor said the long range forecast says temp up to 60 next week. Yes, please! We had a hard frost last night and spits of snow off and on. STOP!

I did some mending for eldest ds yesterday. He has these work pants that are 10-12 years old that are barely staying together, but he insists they fit and can't find suitable replacements. So I fixed a couple of pockets and patched a frayed spot. While walking the dogs, I talked to a delightful 3 yo and his mum. They had a read a library book on fungus, and he was touching the moss and lichen of the trees and sidewalks, declaring them to be FUNGUS. I also learned he had superpowers and liked Transformers.

I played Trivia online last night, finished in 5th place. I became quite dizzy and drank some water, in case I was dehydrated, but bp was okay at 90/60. I got quite nauseous and the water and lunch came up. Ugh. Better today, but still dizzy.

A repair guy came by to look at the dryer. It needs a new heating element and had a boatload of lint inside that he cleaned out. He stressed this was a fire hazard, so I suppose that is something I will need to check regularly. He has to order a part, should be in by Friday.

I did a little yard cleanup, but the dizzies made it hard to bend over to pick up debris. I am going to watch a seminar soon, and then maybe a nap.

Dianah, I'm glad your car wasn't too badly damaged.
