Hi Tweety

Dianah I recently got a sewing kit at Michaels, although they have far less than Joann

NJ22 we'll see, hard to predict what ideas my cousin may come up with

Stars glad the dog is working out

Yesterday was a good day.  No new cases, no one off, nothing unexpected.  The hour and a half long meeting was a bit of a pain but the rest of the day was fine

After work got the grocery shopping done and exercised

Today should be nothing unusual at work or after it.  A very ordinary day

Will be quite hot, mid to upper 90s, with an excessive heat warning today and tomorrow

Good morning!

Very muggy and hot today as usual.  We haven't been getting much rain even though it's our rainy season this past week or so.

Got up early and pottered about some.  Going to the gym and getting ready for the next couple of days at work.

I swear I posted earlier, but maybe it was yesterday's post I was thinking of So, it is still going to be hot as Hades, with more hum-diditty, and now they are putting off the three-digit temps until a week from today. But we still have the 'feels like' temps at three digits.

Good dog is still nameless, even though we've rec'd a lot of suggestions. There is a name or word ( an adjective?) out there somewhere that will fall right into place the moment it is spoken. If only I could discover it!

She was so good today. BiL walked her this AM while SiL got Nannie ready to go to daycare. He said he didn't think she did anything, though. When I got up a couple of hours later, made coffee, and came down to the den, she went to the door, stood on her hind legs and made a little sound to indicate she wanted to go out. I got the harness on her and leashed her up, and we walked all the way to the end of the driveway, then turned around and walked the full length of the back yard, which is where she pee'd and a few steps later she pooped. HOORAY! A dog that can 'hold its water' until she goes OUTSIDE, does not even look at the pee-pads. And she has had a few BM's in the house at first, but I didn't react , I just took the poop up in a paper-towel and laid it onto the top of the small wastebaskets she's been fond of exploring ..... seems to work as well as putting dog poop in a hole a dog has started to dig.

This morning she has been playing with two toys, running around with them upstairs. The sound of her feet on the floor above me makes it sound like she is a bigger and heavier dog! She eventually brought each toy down to the den and shook them like prey, having a very good time of it.

I will have to call and make an appt with the vet. You know, though, I think I will have her spayed at a spay clinic.....not as expensive as the vet's office. But the vet can do the initial examination, tell me her age, give her necessary shots, chip her, plus give me the monthly flea and tick prevention med. I still have two or three months left of the med used for Momo, and they are both the same size, so once she has been cleared by the vet I can save a little money starting with those to kill any insect activity there might be on her. Have not seen any fleas, though, but since I take her out (as opposed to Momo who never wanted to go out) she does need that protection.

Not sure if I am elected to retrieve Nannie at closing time, but I imagine I'll find out soon enough.

I'd like to visit the PNW sometime. Closest I've been is Utah. After all, it was just last year I finally made it to the west coast!

Yes, a spay/neuter clinic would be less $$$$ than the vet's office, generally speaking. I picked up meds for Binx yesterday, this time asking for 3 months worth since it feels like we run out so fast. I believe he is due for a couple of vaccines so I will call and check with them soon. We've been spending money while we have it but it won't last long. The GOOD news is that stepson should be able to move into project housing in September and his rent will be quite low. I hope that it is clean and safe. There is a hearing in mid-Sept regarding his disability eligibility.

I need to stop at the grocery and pick up a couple of things for tonight's meal. I keep thinking it is Thursday and having to remind myself it is only Wednesday. Saturday there is a memorial service for a woman who attended our church until her health made it too difficult. I really liked her and want to go to the service.
