Tweety 8 days in India should prove very interesting

Stars glad she is coming by today to help you out

NJ22 I've started making some recipes I see on YouTube

Ado that can be a difficult discussion to have with a vetY

Had a fairly intense and unexplained burst of anxiety yesterday morning, no apparent thought or event triggered it.  Maybe a delayed response to stress yesterday?  Was able to get it to fade as the morning progressed.  It did remind me that anxiety is a long term ongoing battle.  Really have to watch one's thoughts and reactions

The work day itself was fine, no particular issues.  Even had time to do laundry.  Got Chinese as I'm temporarily off diet.  After work got a birthday card for my niece and exercised

Today have a meeting at work, then will do the grocery shopping after work.  Then have an online vestry meeting, my last one.  Will be glad to be done with that

Weather has finally warmed up, will get up to 17 today, a big improvement from the last few days.  Will be the start of a gradual warming trend

Getting my car serviced and hope it's just an oil change and not something expensive.  Just routine maintenance.

Ado, that is indeed a tough conversation especially if your husband and you have different ideas.  I did alert my vet I thought my dog was at the end of his life, but I let nature take it's course and he died at home but I would have brought him in if he was in distress.  My 2nd dog was in distress and I had to ease her suffering.  Now I'm dealing with a deaf-blind 15 year old.  He's fine though and in no discomfort that I can tell.

It's really cold here for us in the 40's.  Crunch, my friend in Ocala says it's 36 there.  it does get cold fronts up there but I guess it's better than up north.  We're having a very cloudy Winter.  Haven't seen the sun in many days.  El Niño is what they say.

Joe, I say, "HOORAY!" for the last vestry meeting. I never attended any, but I remember when I was a kid, those vestry meetings could be long and hot-tempered, as certain members bowed-up at changes others wanted to make. One of the lengthier debates was whether or not the men could eliminate suit jackets and ties during the summers. The minister said there was nothing in the Bible about a dress code in church, but others were adamant that wearing suit-jackets and ties showed respect for the institution. The church had no A/C and the windows would be opened like about 6 inches at the bottom of the windows. If they really wanted to let heat escape, they should have opened the tops of the windows, because, as we all know, heat rises. I was a kid of age 9 when I figured that out and mentioned it to someone, but was, of course, ignored. What does a kid know?

Gotta go take a shower; I'll have to get Nannie up in a short while, and time's a'wastin'!

BRRRR! I don't care if Alaska is really so much colder than it is here, because right now it is 37 degrees and even with an 'energy-saving' heat pump, with the thermostat set on the ungodly temp of 74, the house is COLD and my fingers are practically numb!

I used to be acclimated to cold weather, having grown up in northeastern Mass. but I've lived in the South for a long time now, and aged a good bit, so this here is plenty "freezing" enough for me! I have to wrap up in a heavily-lined hoodie to stay warm, and sit on my hands or tuck them in my armpits, but even then my feet are cold. I have got to find some decent WELL-FITTING Winter shoes or I won't have any toes come Spring!

Almost time for SiL to arrive and I can Spring out to the stores in search of warm footwear! I hate shopping for shoes because everything is a whole size and medium width, which does me NO good. Gripe, gripe, gripe. It's always something!

Hi! It's been snowing since 1 am, and now tapering off at 1pm. the wind has been blowing it a bit, so hard to guess how deep, 6-8 inches? Or maybe 1 little dog deep. And it's 31 degrees. I am still concerned that it may rain later, which will be bad if it freezes. The dogs have been needing some encouragement to go out, but once they do, they seem to like it, at least for a few minutes.

Last night dh was planning on taking me to the mattress store today, because it is the last day of the sale, but I don't think they are open. Many businesses are closed due to limited snow removal in the area. And snow doesn't usually last, and will likely be gone by the weekend.

Chin-deep snow! Poor li'l dog! I had a friend once who had a Great Dane who HATED to go out in the snow. She had to go out first to take him by his collar and pull, while her kids each had to push him from behind and pull his hind legs out from the doorjamb where he would brace himself with his back legs. When they did get him out, he would immediately lift his leg to pee, and give them the stink-eye while he was peeing. It was too funny!

I got two pair of shoes which I hope will work out with the addition of arch supports. I was also going to get a pair of easy spirit at a dept. store, but they wanted $59 for them. Since I'd just spent $101,13 for the two pair I got at a shoe store, I didn't want to spend another $59; besides which, they zipped up on the top and I didn't like how they looked, even though they fit well. I HATE shopping for shoes. But, I did go to Books-a-Million and got 3 paperback books. THAT, I like to do; except I would like not to have to limit the # of books I buy. Way back when hubby and I were both earning good money, I went to a bookstore named The Little Professor, and I would go in there and buy 6 or 7 books at a time. It was small and privately owned, not a chain, and had a wide selection of subjects and books. It broke my heart when they had to close down. ? And now, I can no longer 'let myself go' in a bookstore. Ratz! *sigh*

Stopped at a restaurant (The Brickhouse Grille) I have driven by skatie-eight-thousand times since I moved here. I decided since SiL and BiL had Nannie at their house until 7-ish, I'd get something different from our usual meals, just for ME! What I discovered was that it wasn't worth going to!  They only have 2 not very large buffet tables, and are ONLY buffet, and ONLY open 4 days a week, from 4:30 to 8:30. Not open on weekends. So, I got 2 pieces of chicken and some green beans and pinto beans. Not great, but it filled the hungry hole. It was disappointing, because I was looking forward to seeing their menu and ordering something GOOD.  No menu, just lists of what was on the buffet each day they were open, and there weren't too many choices. But, meh, live and learn. Next time I'll go somewhere else; hubby wasn't into trying new places or new kinds of food.

BiL brought Nannie back, and while he was here, he dug the electric 'fireplace' out of the fireplace----looks like a TV screen----and set it out in front of the fireplace, on the bricks. It is supposed to give off heat through the top of it; we'll see. I may have to turn it on and up the heat setting a little tomorrow when we come down into the den, because it is promising to be a lot colder over the weekend.

Over and out for now!
