Slept as late as I could, now I am sucking down the coffee to make my attitude kind of tolerable. I have felt kind of down since yesterday afternoon. SiL texted me that she would be here around 3:20PM today. Then I get to run around in the commuter rush while trying to accomplish my errands. Ppfftt,
Meanwhile I have a wheelbarrow full of dishes to wash, my bed to make, my laundry to gather and wash. I am not going to try to rush to get all that done before I go out. Already the 'discipline' I've been attempting to impose upon myself, has started falling apart.
Were I to get two days and a night WITHOUT Nannie in the house, I MIGHT get some time to do a LOT. Or maybe I could 'go on strike' and vegetate and watch crazy movies.
But the time has come to get Nannie up and dressed. And so far Momo has rejected the breakfast I put down for her. Ah me, the fun never ends.
Hello all!
No Stars, our little chihuahua-pomeranian will reject his food every two weeks or so, for a day. Next day he chows everything down! Go figure... Glad you found the certificate, hope the SS visit goes smoothly. When our kids were little, I found work to be a relief from home duties; though I was "the nurse," I didn't have to be "the parent."
Hello Joe, enjoy your outing to the new restaurant! What kind of food is served there? Hope it is a congenial group!
Yesterday we went to Disneyland, got our steps in (11,000), met and chatted with some nice ppl. Many rides were down for refurbishment. The Mark Twain is due to be re-launched after its lengthy refurbishment. Then the Columbia (the "pirate ship") will be out of commission for a bit. We took the "raft" over to Tom Sawyer's Island and walked around a bit there. It was quieter there, and a nice change from the constant music and noise around the parks. It seemed the parks were not as crowded yesterday. Disneyland closed at 8 for a "Special Event" -- which is Sweethearts night. Available to all, for purchase of a special event ticket. It is one of several special events Disney has on its calendar. Some ppl claim it's easier to get on the rides at the Special Events, as the parks seem not as crowded?? Dunno about that, there were long lines to get in at 5:30 when we walked from California Adventure back to Disneyland for our dinner reservation. Their Halloween Special Event, Oogie Boogie Bash, is well-attended! The ticketholders are allowed in at 6pm, even though the event "starts" at 8pm, goes till midnight. Eh, a way for Disney to make some more money in the "off" seasons.
At California Adventure they are celebrating the Lunar New Year, with several kiosks scattered through the park, that offer different foods not normally found at the usual eating areas. For a price, of course, one can get a "sip and savor" pass, that allows six choices from the various kiosks. We chatted with a man who had such a pass, and he said his pass will last a couple visits, the food is filling and a nice change from the usual park fare.
It was 75 degrees (tops), and the evening wasn't bad after the sun went down. High clouds came over in the afternoon, a beginning to the storms that will come tomorrow (Thurs). Rain is predicted, on and off, for a week starting this Thursday. Here too. Sounds like Mammoth Lakes area, in the eastern Sierras, is expecting 4 feet of snow with this storm. Local mountains may get one foot of snow, we'll see.
Today I will make Hungarian Mushroom Soup, to last us probably three days (usually we have soup in the evenings).
Have a good day, and evening!
Even though I have been to the SSA office once before, I drove around and around, but couldn't locate the road! I stopped a walking police officer to ask her how to get there, and though her directions sounded similar to what BiL told me when I got home, I still don't quite 'get it'. I know what road it is off, but that didn't seem to matter today! Maybe tomorrow morning I can find it. All I have to do is put the envelope into their indoor drop box. They will call me on Wednesday, Feb. 14th at 11 AM and supposedly we can take care of things over the phone.
I got my low tire pumped up, and the guy said I will probably need new tires soon; he said something about dry rot! YIKES! Well, I'll write it in my notebook brain with the list of other pricey things I need. S'all I can do right now.
SiL gave Nannie a bath/shower and did her hair. The power company did come by when BiL was here; they got the wire raised off the carport about 6 inches and cut a few limbs off the shade tree, (the branches that were 'bumping' on the power line when the wind was blowing.)
I have to go up to the kitchen and nab myself something to eat. BiL brought Nannie some hot dogs from a greasy spoon we like, so all I had to do was give her the supper time meds. I thought about picking up something for myself, but it was getting dark and I hate driving around here when it is dark. Anyway, I had picked up a serving of Mediterranean salad at the HFS, so I will not have to cook.
Day is done, gone the sun.
Will tawk wif y'all tomorrow~
Another beautiful day. I went home a bit earlier than usual and Twin B said something about it so I said "Yeah, I decided I'd had enough for one day." He asked if things were that bad at the hospital and I said no, I'd just had enough. We ate leftovers and I went to choir practice. Thinking about making some overnight oats for tomorrow's breakfast.

Work would have been fine, if our 1 hour meeting didn't end up lasting 2 instead. The last 10 or 15 minutes I started quietly doing some work, just so I wouldn't get too far behind. I was able to leave on time, in spite of that.
Did laundry during lunch, as after work had our monthly restaurant outing with the church group. It was a place wed been to before, had a pretty good crowd there, though the food didn't impress me
This evening the gay group is having their monthly restaurant outing, at a restaurant I've never been too before. Will do the grocery shopping before then, will have to make it pretty quick
Weather continues to be in the mid 40s, rain should hold off all week
