Good morning!

Stars washed the dishes!!

I go to the dealership since initially I got free oil changes, but also keep a record of what's been done to my car. A while back I read that it was important to keep a maintenance record. I've never need it.

Had a decent day off yesterday. Did the chore of cleaning the bathrooms and spent a little time at the beach with G. It was a nice warm day. It's quite cloudy today and we're expected some rain which will usher in some cold weather but by Saturday it will be 80 again. Schizo weather this time of year is the norm.

Nothing but routine stuff today. Laundry is going and the floors are mopped. Going to do some cooking and go to the gym.

Our backyard is a mud puddle! It rained alllll night, and it is supposed to rain some more (88%) and humidity is 94%. Good day to stay inside! Hope Nannie will nap!

Slept late and got up late; Momo had barked at 4:45 AM, so I went down to the den and put Nannie back to bed. For some reason she thinks it is funny when I tell her she needs to stay in bed! Oh well, at least she doesn't fight it. I had another coughing spell when I went back to bed, so I assumed it was post-nasal drip and squirted my nose with spray and it stopped the cough. She has already started adjusting and readjusting her sleeves and showing me how her top jersey matches her pants and OF COURSE her shoes....always her shoes!

Tweety, I may put the CLEAN dishes away today! w00t! But first I have to drink my 2nd cup of coffee.

Today is SiL's b'day; don't know how old she is but BiL is 10 years younger than me, so I suspect it is the same for SiL.

Was reading last night, the book I got at the library: "Jack Reacher's Rules" (2012) by Lee Child.. I laughed so hard when I read just the title of one of the "chapter" headings: "How to Break an Iron Gate Down With a Chrysler" 🤣 (There were 6 steps of instructions, the last one being to run like hell before the cops arrived.) I suppose in some circumstances one might need to know how to do that without injuring yourself!

*sigh* The den seems to be a No Napping Zone this afternoon. I may have to nap ---or at least pretend to---in order to NOT have my attention called for repeatedly to look at the 'things' flying around in the breezes. It's just dead leaves. SMH.

Got MiL to her eye procedure and back home again. It took a bit longer and her eye looked a little red. She said it was like a different procedure. As we were coming out, we saw an elderly lady sitting on the ground next to her walker, and her daughter trying to help her up. We tried to help, but the lady insisted she could get herself up, but clearly she couldn't. I suggested called the fire department, but she refused that, too. finally, she got up with the help of her dtr and dh (who came along for the ride). Her elbow was quite scratched. I hope she was OK, but she looked really pale.

I dropped dh off for his meeting at the food bank, then got gas and picked up the dogs. We all went for a walk in the park. Now, everyone but me is snoozing.

I swore off going to the dealership a couple of years ago. They are always rude and condescending. I took ds with me once when I had to get a replacement head lamp for my old car because they wouldn't believe that they had given me the wrong one. The parts guy rolled his eyes and asked if I had the car. Well, yes I did. And guess what. They had given me the wrong part. I had ds there to witness how they acted. My local shop can do what I need, which is mainly oil changes, recharge the air conditioning, brakes, and suspension. The tire shop takes care of the tires.

Weather has stayed mostly clear, 30s at night 45 in the day. Lots of snow in the mountains, where it belongs.
