Tweety I too usually try and finish books even if I don't  like them that much

Stars that's disappointing that they don't have beds, but perhaps some sort of private duty nurse or home health aide could help

Dianah that sounds like fun

NJ22 hope they can find a solution for the pain

Work was good yesterday, nothing difficult or unexpected.  Hoping that this trend continues

After work ran an errand or two and exercised.  Decided I will not finish Anna Karenina, at 800 pages it's too long and not interesting enough

Today have the vestry meeting in the evening, believe it will be virtual this time.  Will be glad when these are done.  Before then I will do the grocery shopping and might stop at the library

Bit warmer today in the low 80s

Every time I start to type, "Hey Joe~" That old Jimi Hendrix song plays in my head with its concurrent bass-guitar sequences. ("Where ya going with that gun in your hand...?") Used to be there were some days when, in my brain, anything said out loud would touch off the memories of old songs, whereupon I would sing a phrase or two.  Former co-workers used to roll their eyes at me, and one time a patient said to me, "Are you ALWAYS like this?" At the time I could answer, "Yup, pretty much." However, here-abouts in my present situation, the song fragments are generally not understood, and nobody laughs. Humor seldom generates a response from someone with Alzheimer's, or an alcoholic.

So last night was one in which there were no arguments twixt Nannie and hubby; he told me she wasn't talking to him because he made her mad. He also didn't yell much at the TV because the Braves were knocking out the home-runs something fierce! Good game, and yes, we won.

This AM when I got up I decided to make my bed, sit on it, and start sorting through the pile of papers that had been stuffed into the bin for future shredding. I know I could find someplace that offers free shredding periodically, but I don't. This gives me a feeling of accomplishment without being strenuous. I determined earlier that I was not going to ask too much of my left knee, since yesterday taught me that pushing/pulling a grocery cart while using a crutch was putting quite a strain on various pieces of my anatomy, like, also, from my R shoulder and wrist and thumb, from clutching a crutch--------say THAT fast 5 or 6 times! Anyway, I have declared it "Be Easy On Myself" Day.

As usual the two "beeeoootiful dreamers" are NOT going to "wake unto me," 'cause I am being quiet as a mouse. He is upstairs, she's here in her recliner. I am enjoying the peace and quiet! And as I typed that I heard foot-steps coming from the upstairs room where my hubby was resting. Harumph. Oh well.

I'll stop back by here laydah to see whatcha all are or have been up to. (Page five?)

its hot and sticky, again. After a short run, I went down to the demo garden to volunteer a little. I gave up after 2 hours because the shade was gone. I don't know that I'll do much of anything else today. I didn't sleep well, so perhaps a nap? I really enjoyed the Oppenheimer movie. And I remembered, I have the book it's based on downloaded to my e-reader, so I'm going to retackle it. It's quite long, but well written. We went to a different Mexican place, but it was blah, no spiciness at all. I had a veggie burrito that was just rice and beans, with some tomatillo sauce on top. Boring.

Well, most of my labs are back and normal, which is good. Except, I was hoping to find an easy fix for joint pains and lack of energy. Doc mentioned referring me to a sports doc, so may I just need some strengthening. Sis has a Dr. appointment and CT in Seattle tomorrow, so I'll be making a drive to the big city. oh boy. dh still hasn't agreed to let me take the pickup. It has better air conditioning than my car. He feels a greater obligation to pick up donated dog food for the food bank than his wife and sister in law suffering from heat stroke, I guess.

G'day!

Worked the floor day and was busy.  Had 4:1 with one admission, so better than 6:1.  Two of the patients told night nurse "you have big shoes to fill" which was nice.  Sometimes I feel like such an unorganized dope but nice my patients feel good about things.  I get a free t-shirt for being mentioned in a survey by a patient.   I'll take it.  I'm not one of these ungrateful people about such things.

J22, at least your doc didn't say "well a woman of your age........", like mine said to me once.  LOL

An actual real discussion tonight! Hubby and I were remembering all the cartoon shows from way back in the 1950's. Then we tried to remember all these very dramatic wrestling matches and the different wrestler's names, My favorite at one time was OX BAKER. There was a fan, a grandma-type lady who held up her grandchild (infant) right up in front of his face, and Ox's statement was growled: , "I didn't come here to kiss babies, I came here to break heads!"
