Weatherford college lvn spring 2015

Published

Hi. I was trying to get some information. If anyone has had a good experience with the program? I received my acceptance today and am thinking about doing a lvn to rn bridge program. Anyone else accepted for spring 2015?

Do you know how much the books will run us and what color we wear for scrubs? Just curious and ready to get started:) thanks for the info and, advice! PD82 when did you graduate?

Specializes in Neuro/EMU, Pediatrics, Med Surg.

Hunter green!

Theres a book package they will tell you about, but some of the books in there you wont use as much. If your a deal seeker you can look up the books ISBN numbers (they'll give you a list) and buy them individually, which is what i did.

The first 2 semesters you will need a bunch of books and lab packs. You will get alot of info at orientation next week

Thanks for the info. I am defintely ready and anxious...This year has flown by so I can only imagine next year will be tough and done before we know it! I know the schedule is somewhere around 8-4, however what are the clinicals like?? Are they additional to the 8-4 or are they implimented into those times?

It depends on your clinical site and your instructor. Could be 8 hours, could be 12. You will have set clinical days though.

CPR wasn't on my check list. I guess because im an alternate. I called today and there still hasn't been any movement on the alternate list so i guess il get ready to start looking into other options.?

Is it hard finding a job in the dallas area as a new LVN? I've heard that most hospitals only hire RN's with bsn's has anyone else heard that?

They said lots of alternates get called at and after orientation and during vaccination deadlines cuz lots of ppl don't go or get them completed! Fingers crossed:)

When is the vaccination deadline. My fingerprint deadline was on the 14th

Those who dont show up to orientation, lose their spot. Jusy an fyi.

Stay positive!

We have to have the checklist completed by January 6th in order to register for classes. That's all the vaccinations and cpr and all of that jazz.

Im trying to stay positive i try not to think about it but its hard not to. Im just ready to start nursing school. Thanks for the fyi PD82

Did everyone go to orientation today?
