Weak Stomach

Hi everyone,

I am almost done with my pre-reqs and I am very excited to start applying to nursing school.:yeah: Sometimes, I can have a sweak stomach and was wondering if anybody could tell if they have experienced this too and was able to get through it in nursing school. I am okay with blood, I've been in hospitals, and I was fine in A&P with dissections. It's just sometimes I can have a weak stomach in certain situations. Does this happen to everyone? Did others go through this and get over it? Do you think I will eventually get over it? Any experiences in nursing school that you just couldn't handle? LOL :lol2: Thanks in advance. :) I can't wait to be a fellow nurse :nurse:

So, I would like to tell you all that last night before I went to bed I was reading all these stories and I had a horrible dream LOL. I was cleaning up poop,:barf01: , and unmentionables and while cleaning I was gagging and having such a hard time. Seriously though, thank you all for your support and guidance it means a lot to me know, that I am not the only one that ever dealt with this.

Oh, also I am glad their is a lot of future nurses in my same boat because now we have something to bond over in nursing school. :p

I have some things that make me a little nauseous, I'm think everyone does (well, maybe not the seasoned ER nurses) This head is nasty --> What freaks you out? - Nursing for Nurses but it helps alot:D, by the 7th page I was less nauseous than I was on page 2, just don't try reading all of it at once, pace yourself!:) I think this stuff comes with practice, most people have something the remain squeamish even after they are very experienced, but I think most people get over the nasty stuff, or at least they get used to it, or they learn to block it out and not let it get to them...

Im in my last semester of nursing school and was wondering the same thing. Vomit grosses me out all the time. I hoping I will get used to the vomiting especially because I want to do L&D and I know I will probably see alot of that.

After being a nurse for 25 years some things make still make me queasy. My husband always laughs and says he can't believe I could be so squeamish and be a nurse.
