WCJC ADN Fall 2021

Published

Hello!
I never found a thread for Fall 2021 admission, so I figured I start one. Has anyone else out there applied to WCJC Fall 2021 program?  Just anxiously waiting for end of April to find out if I’ve been accepted or denied. ?

@Stef09

Thank you for your tips!! It does feel a bit overwhelming because you just want to have the best scores to get in ? I have been studying for the TEAS and the science portion is a bit much but I think I’ll be okay. I just have to think positively and think that I will get through this ? I will definitely try out your study tips!! Wish me luck ? and goodluck into your journey.

@Nayeli Reyes thank you and are you applying at Wharton in the fall next year or for the Spring in sugarland ?

@Stef09  I am applying for the Spring program!! ☺️

Congrats to you all you wonderful future nurses on your acceptance. Could you tell me the points y'all earned? I'm currently 21 without TEAS (I test end of month). All the best in nursing school! Y'all will do great!

Congrats everyone! I recently graduated from their program this fall and wanted to wish yall good luck! I wish you all the best and wanted to say you all got this!! It's a tough program, but manageable! Just because its an ADN doesn't mean its not hard, so study hard everyone!

Hi @rubylizzz thank you so much, hope everything goes well. Just wanted to know if y’all always use uniforms ? Or only when there’s clinicals?

@rubylizzz Thank you so much!! I’m excited and terrified. ? What hospitals did y’all do clinicals at?

Hi, you only use school uniforms when you are at clinicals or when you are getting checked off in lab. Other than that, you wear scrubs when you are attending regular lab days or regular clothes when in the classroom/lecture.

LOL that’s totally normal ? First semester is generally at nursing homes to get your skills in. And they’re always changing them up, so I’m not sure where you’ll end up. They separate you into groups depending on where you live in relation to the site and how many sites they were able to obtain. We also did St Lukes for a day or two just to get a feel of what to expect in a hospital setting. Level 2, 3, and 4 will all be in a hospital setting and ranges from Oakbend, Matagorda, St Lukes, and MH system. Again, there may be others that the school may try to add in. You should also remember that the main campus is located in Wharton, so some sites may mostly come from Wharton and other volunteering experiences too. So just be prepared for that. In level 4 you also have the opportunity to have a preceptor and as long as they are approved by the director then you can work with them! So that’s something to look forward to!

Hello everyone!! Quick question. For the TEAS exam do you have to send your scores electronically to the school or do they only want a physical copy?

Hi @Nayeli Reyes I don’t know what campus you plan on attending so I don’t know in sugar land but I’m pretty sure it’s the same since it’s the same school but in Wharton you just send a physical copy with the application as it is mentioned on the application.

Good luck!
