WCJC ADN Fall 2021

Published

Hello!
I never found a thread for Fall 2021 admission, so I figured I start one. Has anyone else out there applied to WCJC Fall 2021 program?  Just anxiously waiting for end of April to find out if I’ve been accepted or denied. ?

Hey I also applied to the ADN program in the fall at wcjc and got accepted

just waiting for my blue card to come in and I wonder how long this process is going to be

do you know anything ?

Hey @Stef09

Congrats on getting accepted!! I was also accepted as well and can’t wait to start. It’s nice to finally connect with someone who also is starting the program in the fall. I received my blue card a couple of weeks ago, but I also did my background check last year for another school so I think that’s why I received it so quick.

Aww man, have they sent you anything else from castle branch ?
I hope mine doesn’t take long

I've been planing to go out of the country to go visit my family in Mexico but I don’t know what to expect on this process. ?
Do you think it will take long ?

I’ve never received anything from castle branch, don’t even know what that is ?

The first time I received my blue card it took about a couple of weeks. Hopefully you receive it soon.

I haven’t heard much on what we should be doing. I’m assuming we will receive an email on the next step in the process.

Have you only received an email from the secretary regarding background check?

Castle branch is a program something like that where you upload your vaccinations and titer documentation, CPR certification etc. On the WCJC catalog under ADN nursing there’s more information about what to expect. And yes the secretary just sent an email about the background check and what to sent her when we receive it.
How long did it take for your blue card to come in the first time ? Because the secretary said around 4-6 weeks

Oh wow. Is their a time frame on when all that is due? I only now about the background check.

When I first received my blue card, it took no more than 4 weeks. I received it pretty fast. I have heard it can take up to 6 weeks.

So you found castle branch on the WCJC catalog?

No nothing has a time limit unless the secretary says so in an email.
Your background check was from idéntogo too right?

Do you mind communicating through email ? To keep in touch

Yes, background check was from Identogo. Do you have a facebook? We can connect on there. Email is fine too. My email address is [email protected]

Hey guys!!

I was wondering what your overall GPA scores and TEAS scores were. I want to apply to their ADN program. I want to see how competitive it is. Thank you. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @Nayeli Reyes

Well I believe that the most important thing is to not drop any science class especially A&P 1 & 2 and Microbiology, there the most important ones. Try to do your best on the first try because they deduct points of you drop them and a lot. I personally had a high GPA since I knew it was very competitive so I did my best on the core courses needed to apply. On the TEAS worry for science math and reading, not English I discovered that they don’t look at that score. I personally recommend big time to buy the practice tests off of the ATI TEAS site, very similar to the actual test but do them after you have done most of your studying to see where you stand and to make sure your ready to take it. And watch as many videos as you Can, buy books, I bought “TEAS secrets” book something like that and did all the tests that come inside. Just do as many tests as possible to be prepared. I know it sound overwhelming but go section by section, look up videos for every body system with animations and know the process of each and organs included, watch ATI math problems and solve them before seeing the process and write it out, if you get it wrong you’ll learn from it. Watch videos that help you identify key things in reading, I watched all of Carolyn Mcallisters videos she had many tips and tricks 10/10 recommend.

Personally don’t compare scores because you will be overwhelmed knowing what others have or got, just do your best in every class and TEAS attempt. Try to get the highest grades possible since every grade in your core classes counts for certain amount points, so try to get the maximum points in very core class. You’ll  never know what other students grades are like so just do your best since day 1, everything counts.
I thought I was never going to be accepted but I did and all I did was to get the highest grades possible that I could. I also recommend to take the TEAS beforehand to see how it is and what kind of questions they ask to be familiar with it, it’s okay to fail the first time, I did.(Just keep in mind every time you take the TEAS it’s different questions.)
Please don’t compare your scores with others, trust and believe in yourself that you can make  the best grades possible and feel fulfilled that you tried your best to achieve every point possible for that program.

hope this helps you ?
