Well, everyone moved into the 2nd part of the semester (hopefully...) How is it going? Where are you? I really like M/S 2 so far. I am at Garden City Hospital on Thurs and Friday. The unit seems busy, but I like it.
I am studying ECGs tonight..... I swear, it is better than taking sleeping pills.....just kidding, it rather interesting.

Virginia, I hope your math test went well. We also had a math test for our rotation. Okay, where were you sitting in the audience? I was in the 2nd row at the 1st seat near the door (I was wearing all white;)). I was in the smaller group (M/S 2) Oh, I had the steth with the light blue covering over it.
What did you think about your first day? I think I am going to like GCH. That shuttle seems like it is going to be interesting.
Okay, it is 5PM, and I am dead tired. If I did not have kids I would go to bed NOW!

Hi, I was also in the second row, third seat. So it was just the one person that separated the two of us. I probably got up to pass you to go get water during Missy's orientation (I couldn't stop coughing). I got on the shuttle today, it wasn't bad. Early in the morning they come quite often. The unit we are on is sooooo small and they just move there temporarily on Monday. Space is very limited and we will do our conferences and meet in the cafeteria. Be these two days have okay for the most part.
I think I remember you! I had the navy blue jacket on. If I see you, I will say hi! We get a lunch break at 11AM. Mrs. F (our instructor) is awesome! We met at the NW campus to go learn various techniques. We will be back on the floor and running next Thursday. You instructor seems nice and laid back. You group is HUGE! Was everyone in Crawfords class?
How is theory going? Oh, as far as the shuttle, how long did it take to get there? Should I plan on arriving at 6:30AM?
Okay, I took a little nap, now I have my 2nd wind to study some more ECGs

hey damomma,
well, it didn't go well for me. i failed nur 111, so i'm out until january when i'll have to retake it. i was passing the written exams, but i messed up big time in my last checkoff! it really hurt because i got b's in 110, 118, and medical math. it wasn't that i didn't understand the material. i just didn't have the time to practice between working full time and taking nutrition. i now realize that i should have never taken all of that at the same time. literally, i had 5-6 quizzes/exams weekly. i almost made it, but i really believe that it wasn't meant to be at that time for me to start clinicals. the good thing is i should do really well when i retake the class...i'll be the smartest one there! lol
for anyone reading this and thinking of taking nutrition and medical math together in addition to nursing classes, please do not do it..especially if you have children or have to work full-time! i strongly advise that you wait until the following semester. i thought that i was superwoman and could do it all, but i failed right at the end even though i was passing up until the day before the last day of class.
it seems weird now because i have all of this free time and i don't even know what to do with myself since i only have nutrition to concentrate on. oh well, i probably need it considering the stress that i just went through. at first i felt like a failure, but then i realized that i should still be proud of myself because out of 5 classes, i only failed one. i'm definitely not giving up because nursing is my dream and i've put too much into it to just walk away. i'll only be a semester behind and will be finishing 12/09 instead of may. i start remediating next week. i have to call suhka on monday to get everything set up. well, let me go, but i hope everything is going well for you in your classes. if you have any notes from ob, please send them my way so that i can put them in a folder. take care and ttyl!

Hello everyone! Just thought I'd let you all know that I passed the first 7.5 weeks and I am not in clinicals and Med/Surg 1. The clinicals don't seem to be too bad, I have David Haines, who seems to be a great instructor. I also have Desouza for theory and she seems really tough. Hopefully it will be ok. I am so nervous, but excited at the same time. I really want to know all of my grades from the previous classes, and I know all but one.....do we have to wait until the end of the semester for the grades to be posted on webgate?

congrats jillian! as for your question, i was told that unless your teacher told you your grade, you would have to wait until the end of the semester to find out. i was lucky because my instructor mailed our grades out and we knew what we had a couple of days after class. well, you're in the second half, so you know that you passed. that's the only thing that really matters! good luck with clinicals and desouza!
