Hi. I was womdering if anyone has any tricks-of-the-trade to help me bypass the long waitlist for the skills exam at excelsior. I am starting in May and I would like to be done by January. I have three-eight-hour-days per week to study and I was really shocked when I heard on here about the long waitlist for that exam. When can you actually sign up for that......after completing what class. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure your goal to start the test in May and complete the CPNE by January will be nearly impossible unless EC continue to add more dates for the CPNE all over the country. It will really depend on how fast you complete the Test. Right now there are 7 + the three part FCC. You can apply and ask for a cancellation date for the CPNE. It will take some time to ingest the 502 page study guide, practice the skill,care-plans,critical elements, go to a workshop etc. The CPNE is nothing to play with. Even the best of LPN's fail it. I would say, focus on starting the program and passing all the test. Have you finished your prerequisites? I'm hope the wait time will get shorter, how short I don't know.In the mean time I will embrace it because I need time to master all the key elements.

You can't apply for the CPNE until you have finished all of your nursing exams and most of your gen ed.
