Hello,
I'm new here in Michigan and I'm applying to Wayne State University. I have to complete four more prerequisites which I'm attending Oakland Community College for the summer taking one class and the next three in the fall. Is there anyone else out there applying for the CD2 program for the fall of 2016??? Or anyone else went through this process?? I'm so excited, but nervous because this is the only school I'm applying to. I know my eggs in one basket. This school has a great representation and I'm ready for the challenge. Please let me know and let's talk😉
Did you decide to go with Chamberlain @SexyNurse2b79? I am also planning on applying to WSUs accelerated program, I have my bachelors degree in health care administration already. I am completing my prereq's at WCC as of right now, I'm going to apply after this semester but I still have to take 2 more classes. I am super nervous about this whole process my stomach gets tight just thinking about the program lol
Yes I'm going with them. It's not that far and they are not a bad school. Just expensive. But it will be all worth it because that's my dream. Wayne State is an excellent school but I didn't want to take the risk.
@awhite47 I am at WCCCD now in the first semester of the nursing program. I decided to go ahead and start there and when accepted to WSU CD2 program I won't be "rusty" so to speak. I am really enjoying the program and it is giving me an amazing foundation and valuable insight as to what to expect. Even though WCCCD is an ADN program it is similar to an accelerated program in that each semester is divided in to 7.5 week chunks so everything is moving very very fast with absolutely zero room for error. We just started clinicals last week and I am doing Med Surg1 at Receiving Hospital. The information website says that professional nursing course grades will be taken into consideration, but I am not sure in what way, especially if the primary criteria is only GPA. I have gotten an 'A' in Nursing Assessment and a 'B' In Foundations of Nursing. This half of the semester is Pharmacology and Med Surg1. I hope to see you and all the other Future Nurses who have applied in the spring/summer of 2016!
You sound ambitious! Taking classes at WCCCD's nursing program to keep yourself ahead of the game and to prevent gettting "rusty" was smart. Do you already have your bachelors degree in another area? We'll have to keep in touch with each other while anticipating our acceptance into WSUs accelerated program. I'm excited but I can't help but think "HOW AM I GOING TO PAY FOR THIS?"
