Hi everyone, I am transferring to WSU this Winter and was wondering if anyone could tell me about their nursing program. I was wondering if they base admissions on GPA if so what has the cutoff been. Do they weigh in other factors for admissions and does all prereq's have to completed before you apply. Thanks!
I had a quick question. I attend WSU but was on the pre-med track when I stumbled with my GPA. Now, it's at a low 3.4 but I was wondering if the nursing staff will recalculate my GPA with only the Prereqs for the Nursing program to give me a better GPA?Thanks!
The nursing staff only take your prereqs for nursing into consideration when calculating your GPA which it seems will work out in your favor. Attend a nursing info session (they're once a month) or set up an appointment with an adviser in the college of nursing (little known fact they will only let you set up an appointment with them after you have actually applied to the college of nursing. You can apply at any time and even if you don't finish all your classes in time to apply they will just roll your application to the next time free of charge if you request they do so. There's really no point in not submitting your app early for nursing). The advisers in the CON really know their stuff and are the ones to let you know exactly what classes etc you need and are very helpful and friendly.
