Watts School of Nursing June

Published

Wanted to see who else is going to Watts (Mt Olive) starting in June. I just got my acceptance letter today! Wondering who my fellow classmates will be!

Jeep - I forgot that one...unadulterated fear! That's mostly at night that I lay there

and can't sleep, scared to death of what I've gotten myself into!!!

Chicken noodle soup and cream of chicken (I add bacon bits and jalepenos) are good and cheap too!!!

Count me out....TECHNICAL WRITING!!! Besides, I already know how to write big letters and little

letters and cursive...what else is there???

Have to look after the 9th and see what classes are needed.

Hmm, I thought it was going to be an online program? There are many online programs out there...MOC won't be seeing one more dime from me!!

Keyna: the laws might be changing requiring all nurses to have a BSN.

Rouss: sorry about your steak.:(

Is watts involved at all with their bsn??

Even if bsn is someday required, they will have to grandfather us in, I would think, if we are half way through.

I just spoke with a Watts graduate that was saying she heard Watts was going to be implementing an RN to BSN program. I wonder if whoever told her that was talking about the Mount Olive program?

It would be awesome if Watts started offering one!!

I would not do it through Mount Olive, unless all the teachers were like our bio and math teachers, which I think is doubtful.

I think the requirements or being grandfathered in would have something to do with how many years you have already been practicing. I doubt they would grandfather recent graduates.

I don't think the MOC program is affiliated with Watts, but Tar might better answer that question, since he spoke with Dr. C about it in detail.

I see your point, Lady, but there's no way they are going to tell all the students across the state, sorry, your last three years and $40K just aren't good enough, you have

to keep going. I would be really maaad!

I guess we won't know until the time comes. I do know that a NP friend is having to go back to get her doctorate. Duke offered to grandfather her, but the catch is that she has to stay in her same position with no guarantee for x number of years. It was a commitment she didn't want to make, but I guess it could work for some.

Wow, Duke must have some power over her...my friend is an NP and just said that the State has not passed that requirement yet, and, like the RN to BSN, she thinks it won't be soon because of the shortages. Wonder what Watts has to say about it all???
