Watts School of Nursing June

Published

Wanted to see who else is going to Watts (Mt Olive) starting in June. I just got my acceptance letter today! Wondering who my fellow classmates will be!

Hello Workin Mom. I'll tell you what we tell everyone in one form or another. The Syn/Ant section is very small and there is no way to prepare for it. It's all vocabulary. If your a walking websters then you'll do fine. There is no way to learn all the words that they throw at you. Answer as many as you can accurately. Also, reading speed has nothing to do with the comprehension section. Forget reading the paragraph. Scan it quickly and pick out key words. Go down to the questions an seek out the answers. You can't remember the paragraphs as they are all a bunch of repeating garbage. Look at questions, go find answers...hense the Key words. Other than that....just book as fast as you can. Me more you answer, the less their worth each.

Any other question feel free to ask.

Good Luck

Just keep thinking...this test is nothing like the stress that the first six months of pre-reqs will throw at me:eek::eek::eek:....

I had fun taking that test. But I don't stress over those sort of things.

Relax and focus.....My best advice

Got anything to add Jam, Keyna or Red??????:yeah:

Are the words similar to the ones in the book? Are the math questions difficult? Math is my strongest subject so I feel a little confident wit that part.... Im just so nervous bc i dont know what to expect..Do they give you a minute warning at the end or somthin???

One last thing....lol... How far did you all get on the reading?? What is average??

I would say yes on the words, but I don't know what book your reading. The math is a cakewalk, but don't make stupid mistakes. You don't have a calculator and if you're like me....it's been a long time since you've done word problems or long division by hand.

J hawk is brutal when it comes to time.....She'll be "you have 30 min on this sect.....go." I think she gave a 10 and 5 min warning. Can't remember.

Nobody knows what to expect first time. just set your mind to passing it first go around and you'll do fine. Remember focused, fast and finish the sucker first round.

As for the reading, I finished everything except for the last 2 questions on the last paragraph.

If you don't spend time on the reading then you have far more time to find the answers to the questions. Scan, and look up. If you don't believe me, then read the first paragraph and you'll quickly convert your style to what I just said. I got a 91 on this section, so i did alright.

Taaaaaaaar, what questions?? It doesn't say anything about questions for week one, or am I missing something???

i think TAR summed it up. just take the test- don't stress and do your best to finish. any math problem (and they're all problems to me) that looked like it was going to take time, i skipped. as for the reading, i got through the first and second passage and some of the third.

j hawk continued to tell us during the entire process that you should take one step at a time. focus on taking the test. if you don't pass it, you have an advantage on your next try.

rous- questions aren't due til next week.

Taaaaaaaar, what questions?? It doesn't say anything about questions for week one, or am I missing something???

No questions due, Baab, I just am knocking them out now!!!!

I purchased the Peterson's Master Nursing school and allied Health Entrance Exam book. so r the words used in that book similar??
