I am considering applying to Watts School of Nursing.
I am not concerned with the application process.
I'm interested in knowing where you chose to live (specific apartment complexes, popular roads to live off of or near for shopping convenience, etc.)
I am also interested in knowing where you did clinicals. I am concerned that I would have to travel into Raleigh to do clinicals. Did anyone have to go to Raleigh to do clinicals?
If so, where?
Please, if you could share all you can about housing and/or the clinical sites and what your clinical day entailed, I would greatly appreciate your help.
Thank you.

I chose to live off of 15/501 but that was more it was closest apartment I could find in a short time frame.
All clinical sites for Watts are done at either Duke University Medical Center or Duke Regional Hospital (mostly DRH). There is one clinical rotation at the Durham VA in the second semester but it's only 1 of the groups (i.e. not everyone goes to the VA). There is a senior partnership at Duke Raleigh hospital, but only 1 student goes there currently. They are hoping to add more slots in the future.

BeachyRN how are you liking watts? What semester are you on? I start my pre-requisites this June! Weehaw! I am stoked!
I'm in my last semester, graduating in 60 days. I like Watts most days, some days make it a LITTLE harder than others. I'd suggest locking down your social media as soon as you start the nursing portion. They've suspended people or put them on probation in the past few semesters for violations of their social media policy (which they take VERY seriously). I'd recommend honing your note taking skills during pre-reqs as well as figuring out your learning style. It will really help for the nusing portion.

Hey hun. I applied to Watts just shy of a week ago and Im wondering how long it took you to get in. Also, any advice on how to pay for this is helpful as well. lol. Can i depend solely on loans?
It really depends on your budget. There is an apt complex literally next door but they are older and last I looked, a little pricey...or maybe Im cheap. lol. Ive been here all my life so if you have ?s about a particular area/street/community, please dont be afraid to ask. I just applied to Watts so we may be classmates soon. lol
