Wasn't hired because of the St Vincents closing.. how to approach them again?

U.S.A. New York

Hello all. This might be a strange question but here it goes. I interviewed for a hospital in Brooklyn, NY a few months back and though i think the interview went well i was told they cant hire because they have to absorb the St. Vincents nurses. I heard from a friend who works there that they are currently looking for new nurses because people heave been and will be leaving.

My question is , should i even bother trying to see if i can get another chance at an interview? If so how should i go about it? I wouldn't even know how to write a cover letter stating that i have interviewed before and i want another chance. Anyone been in this situation?

Any help is appreciated. thanks all.

I think you should just go apply like you would normally for the first time.. in the interview you can probably mention that when the time is appropriate for it..

Just mention in your cover letter that you previously applied and interviewed with (insert name), and go on about how you were impressed with them and so on. Do not mention why you weren't hired; they will likely have notes about you in your file (and as long as they were good notes, you don't have to explain). Then mention how you would love the oppotunity to meet with the recruiter (or manager, or whomever does the interviewing).
