TCC's New Lottery - Has anyone applied?

U.S.A. Washington

Has anyone applied to TCC's Nursing Program since they switched the admissions process to a lottery? I know that applications for Winter entry (this is the first qtr they are starting this new application process) were due a few months ago, just curious if anyone has applied. Apparently you only have to have a 3.0 in your pre-req's and as long as you have that and a completed application, you are assigned a number and a list of those getting in is randomly generated. I just wonder truly how that will work. They would pick someone with a 3.0 over someone with a 3.9? It just seems kinda weird, considering you had to have almost a 4.0 to get into the program before (and pretty much everywhere else). If anyone has been admitted, I'd like to know and what your GPA was. Thanks! :)

That's the way lottery system works. If you meet minimum criteria then you will have the same chance as the person who has higher GPA. Nothing wrong with that.

On the Tacoma College website you can find a detailed explanation how the lottery system works.
