Whoa, that's a lot!! Did they say anything about how many new grads they were looking to hire? I would suspect that it is somewhere in the ballpark of 10 because that seems to be all the new grad programs around the bay area are hiring. It's sad to think that there are over 700 hundred unemployed new grads, and still sadder to know that 700 is probably only a small fraction of the total number of out of work new grads. As of right now my application status on Washington's website says, " Forwarded to Manager." I would LOVE to be hired there but, I'm honestly not too hopeful. A lot of new grad applicants out there are really well qualified (or even over-qualified) with second bachelors, volunteer experience, extra certs...etc.
Oh, I might have just found the answer to my own question. I saw on another thread on this website that someone had posted that Washington Hospital in Fremont will be hiring 20 new grads for their Summer 2010 New Grad program. I don't know if this information is correct, but that would be at least some good news.
Oh, so disheartened. From what I can tell, most of these new grad positions are already slated for someone. Either they precepted there or schools have their clinicals there. Unfortunately, our school did neither so I'm one of those "faceless" applicants.
Trying to be hopeful and optimistic.
Hi there..
Nope no word from Washington and my status shows it as being that my application was forwarded to the manager. It's been a while and I know that their program begins in September.
I'm assuming they are still floating through the mass pile of applicants or they've already sorted through the stacks and have started the interview process.
I guess we'll find out soon enough!

It will be weeks before anyone gets a response!
