U.S.A. Washington DC

Hello!!!!

Has anyone applied for a DC license by endorsement? If so how long do the process normally takes? I applied over two weeks ago almost three weeks, went down there in person and my application havent been but in the system as yet!!! I cannot start my job without the license and its driving me crazy. Your comments are appreciated

Try calling them. Ive been on their butts since I applied. This is my last week to have it all done. They claim theyre still waiting on my cbc in order to even issue me a temp:(

I called them too last Thursday and got the same story. I see you're going to be at the hospital center too so maybe we will be in orientation together lol. I read something about a supervised practice form here on this website. Maybe I can ask about that when I do my pre employment stuff. Have you already met with your nurse recruiter?

sent you a message

nancyp2015, did you send me a message? It shows here that you did, but I can't find it anywhere. Not sure what's going on...
nancyp2015, I received a private message from you but I'm unable to answer it because I don't have enough "status" here on allnurses. I applied on January 29th and I haven't contacted them yet. I'm just waiting a few more days then I'll try to call. Did you get yours yet? When did you apply?
I applied this week and need it by the end of this month. Im so nervous abt this! :nailbiting:

I had a similar issue but the D.C. BON issued me a temp license so i could start working while my application was being processed.

Anybody got their permanent license yet? I called and they told me the same story, that they're still waiting for my Background Check results. When they transferred the call to the company that does the background check nobody answered the phone. I left a message and they never called back (even though they say they'll return calls within 24 hrs). Not surprised. It's been one month since I've applied...

I think they open at 0800. Call them first thing and speak to them. The only way to get a license is to call non-stop 😔

Edit: to answer your question, I have only gotten a temp.

Finally got my license. Had to call several times last week until I was able to talk to someone at the background check. They verified that my background was done but hadn't been sent to the board. He sent it while on the phone with me (probably all he had to do was to click a button or two on his computer). The board received it right away and said they were sending it for processing. Well, I waited three days and nothing, so I went to the board and asked to check on the status of my application. They told me to wait and in less than 30 minutes I had my license. Whew…so much work. I'm so glad it's all done! Good luck everyone!!

Is there a way to check online that they've received the application and documents and see it as "processing" or something? It is so frustrating to mail all the documents and not know when they will look at them...

Mine took 1 week. I applied on a Tuesday and it was ready by the next Tuesday.

Easy process when you go in person to the board of nursing
