Want to Start Work as RN In Memphis

Published

Hi,

I'm currently living in Jackson, MS but want to move to MEMPHIS when I graduate in 2 1/2 short weeks to start RN practice. Could anyone tell me about the intern opportunites there or the best hospital for a new grad. I'm looking for opportunites in the NICU or PACU. Thanks a lot. If you have starting pay rates or nurse recruiter numbers that would help also.

I see a lot of people view the posts but don't reply please take a moment to help a new grad out.

I am an RN in memphis. I work in CVICU. I can not tell you if there are any positions open at the facility that I am in, but if you go to http://www.methodisthealth.org/, you can search available openings. There are I think five methodist hospitals in the memphis area, the largest being University hospital, which is where I work.

The other large hospitals are Baptist and St. Francis. Baptist is well known for high nurse to patient ratios though. There is also St. Jude and Le Bonheur childrens hospitals. Le Bonheur is part of the methodist family, so you may be able to search at the above mentioned site.

Hope this helps

nicole..

if you go down a few threads about st. francis nurse techs...there are some starting pays for new grads listed there.

Congrats on your upcoming graduation! I still have a year to go..can't WAIT! :D

I'm a intern at Methodist University hospital. My recruiter told me as a new nurse that base pay would be 19.00 plus shift differential. They pay back up to 8,000 in student loans and they also give you a $225 uniform allowance.
