Want to go into Nursing.. Scared, Nervous...

Published

Hi! I have read a lot of posts here for a couple of years or so. I'm 39 and decided to go back to Health Sciences (Nursing) after changing my major about 4 times and two of these to/from nursing. I have realized and accepted that the reason for why I kept on changing my mind about going into Nursing is reading/hearing how hard and demanding school and the job (night shifts mainly for new graduates) are. I thought of going into Business Administration just so my nervousness and fear would not evolve in what I just mentioned. But, honestly, even the thought makes me blue, the thought of giving up even trying to do what brightens my face just thinking about it... becoming a nurse. I only need my biology and chemistry classes and I'll be done with the pre-reqs, this summer I'll earn my associates in gen eds. I also plan on moving to Chicago by next summer so right now I'm starting to look at community colleges for pre-nursing, any advices?? I've requested info for Elmhurst College. I would have to look for a PT job because from everything I read, I don't know if I could do it working FT. (Tell me how you did it or are doing it). With all this in mind, I will definately be a starving student, may even give up my privacy and be a roomie for the first time in my life. I don't have children (only a 22 yr old who does not want to follow me). If you can share your experience with me I'd really appreciate it. Advices, directions, words of encouragement please do!! :)

Hi! If nursing is what you're passionate about then I think you should give it a go! Finish those last 2 prerequisites, apply and see what happens :) Best of luck.
