Just wanted to throw this out there for anyone looking to become a CRNA:
I am starting Wake Forest's CRNA program next month, and this past week I attended their H3A portal seminar. I cannot say enough about the experience, 100% worth the time and money. It was fantastic, with lectures covering a wide range of topics that you are probably going to be nervous about, from concepts that we will see in the beginning of first semester (the part where you feel like you have a fire hydrant of information coming at you!) to learning styles, technological solutions for organizing and notetaking, getting into a graduate level mindset and the history of the CRNA profession. We got hands on time with anesthesia machines, spinal and epidural simulation stations, and pig spines and tracheas. We also got to do induction and emergence simulations (where I totally killed the patient, hahaha). One of the highlights was most definitely getting to do intubations and epidurals on cadavars!! Really an amazing 2 days!
Wake Forest offers 2 different H3A seminars, one for ICU nurses that are considering applying to CRNA school (and how you can be a competitive candidate) and one for students already accepted (that's the one I did). There was a few that had done the H3A gateway, and they had great things to say about it.
The faculty and students were fantastic, and really communicated their interest in wanting to set us up for success (our group represented 6 different CRNA programs from all over). It has quelled a lot of my anxiety, and has me really excited to start!

Starting this August (2016) and was looking for some feedback about the H3A program. This has reduced some of my anxiety (thank you!!!). Could I private message you? I have a few more questions about the program/area (things I can do prior to August.. stuff like that)
Thanks!!
Brad

Hi ecoomer01! I'm interviewing at wake forest next week and was wondering if you could tell me about how the interview goes? I've brushed up on all my drugs, vent settings, swan numbers, clinical scenarios, ect... I'm very nervous and any info would be greatly appreciated!
