I have been tricked/fooled by a lot of fake post lately . I find your post hard to believe. Are you really an ICU nurse?
From earlier posts you work in a skilled nursing facility?

It really depends on what your orders are, what your facility policy is, and your patient condition is. If my patient meets their sedation goal and is unchanged neurologically during my assessment, I will keep them sedated. If something has changed neurologically and it isn't contra indicated, I will lighten the patient to see if their response improves.
We are always trying to use the least amount of sedation possible,so if they are too deep, you would lighten them based off of your asssessment.
For neuro or TBI patients, I would involve the doctor if you had any concerns about their neuro status or sedation level as sedation is an important part to regulate icp
thank you for your reply. I appreciate it
