Waiting for phone call post interview.

Hello All.

I had two interviews for a hospital, one was last friday and the other one was two weeks ago. The first one the manager told me she would let me know by last Friday, didnt recieve a phone call, and the one on Friday basically told me I had the position and should expect to hear something by either the end of the day last Friday, Monday, or Wednesday. Well tommorrow is the last day they told me I would hear from them.

My question is, if they dont call me when they told me they would should I just chock it up as a lost cause? I have tried calling but cant get through. I do have another job already lined up to start next week but this one would work better with my lifestyle, new wife/mother.

I would say keep trying to get in contact with them. Call HR directly maybe? I'm in the same position right now and am waiting to hear back from the hospital I really want to work and it's been a week and a half! So frustrating!! But I would say, get in wherever you can because it's hard to find a job in the nursing field aside from this 'nursing shortage' that doesn't seem to exist since no one can find jobs. So wherever you got a job, go for it. At least you'll have your foot in the door and that will be experience on your résumé and then you'll be getting more interviews once you decide to get another job.Congratulations on the job you start next week!!
