Gah!! I just applied to a practical nursing program at my local college, only to find out there is a waiting list of about 42 people! I know it's late in the year (had to make alot of life decisions this year) to be applying to anything, so I knew my chances weren't the greatest, but now... well, it kinda felt like a punch in the gut.
Anyone else dealing with or have dealt with the waiting lists blues?

Like someone else mentioned, sometimes the extra work to get into a competitive program is worth it. I decided to apply for the nearest university that offers an ADN and BSN, but admission is competitive based. I wasn't sure if I would be able to get the grades needed to get in (3.87 is the average) but I knew I didn't want to put myself on the 2-3 yr waiting list at the local community college for their ASN either. I also knew I didn't want to spend 40K - 50K for an ASN at the various for profit colleges. Now I am one pre-req away from from goal and pending I get an A- in it (currently have an A), I have a fairly good chance of being accepted into BSN program in the fall. If I had decided to apply for the CC ASN, I would still have another semester worth of pre-reqs and THEN a 2 yr wait.
