Waiting for Harper!!

So I have about one month left to hear from Harper and the wait is killing me. Anyone else here waiting to hear from Harper? I feel like the competition this year is more fierce and feel like I will barely get in. Anyone else feeling the same way?:idea:

Congrats to all who have been accepted to Harper for 08. I got my letter as well and was accepted. The new twist is that from what I understand they will be splitting the class into two start times. Those who can complete their CNA and Anatomy and Physiology by the start of Fall 08 will start then. The rest will offically start Spring 09 ( after having done the classes) I as ****** at first but I have a feeling that I will benefit from CNA training. But it will delay graduation by a least six months! Crazy stuff.

Congrats to all of you who were accepted! I am currently just taking the pre reqs now and was wondering how many of them you had already taken prior to applying? Also how did you do on the NLN? You can PM if you want. I'm just wondering where I need to be when it comes time to applying. Now I'll have to figure out when I can fit in the CNA program also. Thanks for posting that. I've taken PSY101-SPE101-and currently in CHM100. I plan on taking SOC101 and PSY228 this summer. GOOD LUCK & Congrats again!

I took 10 classes giving me almost 99% (with the points added from the classes) to get accepted for fall 08. Before the points added from the class, I got above 90% on the NLN. For the fall 08 semester they counted all the classes completed and gave you credit for it as long as it was a C or above by taking the number of hours divided by 3. I just checked the requirements for fall 09 and they set if up differently. They give you 6 points for A's and 4 points for B's. C's don't count anymore. If you do the math your possible points is 171 give or take if you get a 99 %tile on the nln. I don't know if it will get more competitive but that's a huge jump from being a possible 110 (give or take).

If you do the math your possible points is 171 give or take if you get a 99 %tile on the nln. I don't know if it will get more competitive but that's a huge jump from being a possible 110 (give or take).

For example, if you scored 99% on the nln and received points from previous classes, lets say 5 points, its like you got a 104% and thats how they rank you. The top 120 gets accepted. At least that's what I think. For fall 08 i think the highest % (saying you got 99% on the nln) with the points was around 110%. That's if you took every single class minus the nursing courses. For fall 09 the are giving 6 points for every A that you get. I think there are 12 classes you could take giving you a possibility of 72 points. If you get a 99% on the nln that comes to about 171%. Once again this is what I am thinking from what I see so far. I don't know if the admission process is going to be harder or easier that's how harper set if up. Did i answer the question? lol If i you still have a question please let me know. I will answer what I can.

No that makes sense to me now. I don't know how that will affect the process. All I know now is that I HAVE to keep my B in Chemistry! And I hope it's possible because my teacher is really hard and the class is really hard for me too. He told us most people pass his class with a C. Good Luck to you in the program!

I am currently going to Harper College and i got accepted into their fall 2009 program. they only give you extra points for Anatomy, physiology and microbiology. They give you 6 points for A's and 4 points for B's. You also need to be done with anatomy and physiology and CNA before you can even apply.

Thanks for your reply & congrats! I finished up chem, and anatomy and am currently in physiology. I LOVE my professor! I'm taking CNA over the summer, micro in the fall and plan to apply for Fall 2010 with all my pre-reqs and co-reqs completed. Please post how you're doing when the program begins. I'd love to hear about it!
