I graduated from nursing school in December '12. I waited until the last date two years later to take the nclex. I passed in 75 questions, but am really nervous about looking for work as a new grad almost 3 years after graduation. I have my reasons, my mother was sick, then passed, then my grandmother. I live with 5 males and 6 pets, and as my father covered a lion share of bills I didn't have to work immediately, other than running a household with an autistic child.
I don't know how to get a job after waiting so long. The longer I waited, the more apprehensive I've been about even starting, knowing the certain rejection I will face, and questions about why I didn't get out there. My father had a stroke recently, and now I can't afford denial. Has anyone been in this situation and still found a job? I will need a little time to refresh on meds and such. Given the dire reports of the job market I feel I have little chance.
