Hi! We are moving to LA in 6 months and I want to apply to nursing school. I am particularly interested in LA Harbor College based on their pass rates and wanted to know what the waiting lists were like. Also, are there any schools in the area that may not have a very long waiting list? My pre-reqs are done and I'm anxious to get started. Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!

Long Beach City College doesnt have a waitlist, you should contact them for more info. Harbor College is in a nasty area of WIlmington, I attended that school for a semester and had my car broken into twice and really did not like the school atmosphere.

Los Angeles Harbor College has a VERY REPUTABLE Nursing Program that is regarded as one of the best in the Southern California region. I'm not going to kid you, 3 of my friends attended Nursing School there and didn't pass, they ended up graduating Nursing school elsewhere. From what they say, the program is really strict and rigorous BUT once you graduate then your good to go with ANY hospital; considering you pass your NCLEX. That's why there is an extensive waiting list.....everybody wants in@ Los Angeles Harbor College! If you want to go to get a SOLID Nursing education, go to Los Angeles Harbor College.....never mind how scary the surroundings may be....you're going there for Nursing School not "Security Guard" School. Hope that keeps you encouraged!
Thanks guys for the great info. I'm not that worried about the area because we will live elsewhere. My main concern is the quality of the program and the waiting list. We are only going to be in LA for 4 years before my husband is due to transfer again and I really want to go to school during this time.
Thanks again for your help!
