WAGNER ABSN FALL 2019

Hey just wanted to start a thread for Wagner's ABSN Fall 2019 cohort.

I also like Wagner for the same reason but because its so small and close knit, everyone knows everything about everyone. The faculty know everything about the students as well. He was telling me how they pretty much look down upon students who don't want to group study or "help" other students out. But personally, there are some people who prefer studying on their own. Also, its no ones responsibility to help out their classmates, in my opinion.

Hey guys. So I applied to the wagner ABSN program before the deadline- I sent my information in end of January, and I still have not heard back from them. Im kind of losing all hope.. whenever I call the admissions office they tell me my application is still under review. I am also still taking two pre-req courses currently AT wagner (microbiology and nutrition) which will be finished end of April. Do you think they are waiting for the final grades? Im not sure what to do/think.

Maybe. But this is from former students and the directors/faculty I've spoken to. In terms of NCLEX pass rate, that's factual and pretty much speaks for the efficacy of the program!

They are probably waiting to interview their first choice candidates and see how they do, and then move on to second, third batch, etc. But don't lose hope! I'm sure there are many people who just applied and won't actually accept!

Well typically if you ask a director/ faculty to talk about their program they wouldn't really talk down upon it haha. Like I said different students have different views as perspectives. It doesn’t make one right or wrong because I also have heard some facts but regardless I wish us all luck in our ultimate goal of becoming a nurse/ going further.

I believe there is different rounds of interviews. I think after the first round there will be a second round. I will be taking nutrition and micro over the summer at Wagner as well.

So a few of my friends who went there actually said NYU's program is really easy. They would go out almost every weekend and still party/drink/have a social life. The only con I really heard was bad preparation for NCLEX (their rate is pretty low), super super expensive, and a hard time finding quality jobs.

So since this is a second degree program just curious where you guys finished/are finishing your first degree and what was your major?

I just graduated from CSI in January with a BS in Psychology

I graduate in May from St. Johns in Queens with a BS in Biology
