Currently working in med-surg, 10-plus years experience in acute, sub-acute and rehab settings, considering a change to home health nursing.I've been reading the various topics and understand that wage information can vary greatly from location to location, agency to agency, as well as whether the assignments are intermittent visits or otherwise. One thing I haven't noticed, though, is any mention of benefits (medical, dental, etc). Are benefits available when working in home health? Or is this an area of nursing considered more to be similar to "agency" nursing where benefits are not normally paid?
Thanks for any help!
Home Health Care absolutely have health benefits. It just depends on where and for which agency you work for. I currently work for a University based home health agency and they have wonderful benefits. I am even going back to school for a Ph.D and they are paying for it. I love home care!
